Aye - and up here in Scotland we have being part of the great union of the UK to thank

Had sturgeon / Salmond (such honourable politicians !!) got their way, we would be floundering with rest Europe out of UK

So to all fellow Scots - be careful who we vote for next month. The Uk is to be cherished.

Spot on. Think about what a vote for the SNP would mean - it wouldn't lead to independence anyway as that's not in Sturgeon's power to give. But if Scotland was currently independent then their 3rd wave would be in full flow with thousands of unnecessary deaths. A Scotland back in Europe is NOT independence...

Nonsense really!
The EU only coordinated a joint buying scheme which procured 2 billion doses of vaccine for half the cost per dose UK paid.
No EU country had o participate and, if they did, they were still free to order separately as well. Severa; did (Germany, Malta, Hungray, etc).
Scotland might even have been ahead of UK
( UK 54% vaccinated - Malta 48% vaccinated and catching up)
We have been locked down for over 6 months.

Half a year stolen from each persons life; time and missed memories which we can never get back.

That is over 34,000,000 years of combined lost living time and for what ?

If the average Covid death was age 66 and they would otherwise have lived to 100 that total would equal 1M remaining lifetimes lost.

Doesn't add up; time to open up FFS!

Why don't they publish the real death rate post vaccination? There will be a lot more deaths than headline blood clots.

Weekly deaths for UK population is in the order of 10K - there must be at least 5K dying each week who have had the vaccine.

They could even compare rates (over 60s) between 90% who have had vaccine to the 10% who have not.

Makes you wonder how many countries are under recording deaths. Only 20 of African countries have a compulsory death registration system. Only 50% of Asian countries. Even two European counties have no system in place. Hard to say what happens in Central and South America.

A 92% drop in Covid deaths is still leaving hundreds of grieving families in UK every week.
Joking at their expense is unacceptable.
This success has resulted from many factors.
Lockdowns.
Vaccinations.
Natural peaking of an epidemic.
'Harvesting' of the most vulnerable leaving a more robust society.
Better hospital treatments as doctors learn and new drugs are tried.
More NHS capacity and equipment.
Warmer, sunnier weather.
But lockdown is easing
Vaccine immunity is fading
and winter will come again.
Don't celebrate yet.
