The government has done a good job on procuring these vaccines, so rather than give them a salary increase this year can we all clap for them instead?
The procurement of PPE has been a good earner for them. They paid 10x the real price. Plenty of scope for kick backs there. Removed

Not sure why ordinary people would vote this down; the facts are out there after all! But I suspect those voting it down are from the Tory Bot Propaganda Factory.
Apparently the UK Oxford vaccine is being avoided by more and more people who do not want to receive a jab and in the next 30 min could never wake up again

BTW, good luck to those who have been injected by the UK Oxford ta ta vaccine

NHS incompetence is why there was no PPE
Not letting the NHS get involved in organising it is why the vaccines are a success.

Vaccine rollout is dictated to the NHS not run by it, or we'd be in the same mess as the EU

Come and live in Wales. The Welsh Labour gov failed to have any supplies of PPE and had to go cap in hand to England for supplies. Covid related death rate higher in Wales than England. So using your wierd logic Labour policy has killed thousands, ensured that no PPE was available and we know rthat the Welsh track and trace has failed to meeet all targets.

So much rubbish about COVID. Look at every "Long Covid" story. Every example so far is a woman in 30s to 50 age range. This is auto-immune disease. It is a known issue in women of that age for as long as we've had medical histories, and is known to happen following viral infections. Enter COVID and OMG its a part of COVID, not an individual's susceptibility to auto-immune disease. Nonsense. Removed

True dat. Seems to me, this whole COVID situation is an attempt to lockdown international travel for the majority and make it unaffordable for the average man in the street. Hence need for £400 nonsense covid tests for everyone travelling. Will make it too expensive for many to take foreign hols, particularly if you have a family. But UK gov et al will meet their greenhouse gas targets, 3 cheers!!

Scandalous too that certain UK media seem to be gleefully doing their very best to undermine trust in the UK-developed AZ vaccine, which has undoubtedly played a major part in bringing down the Covid figures since the January peak in this country. Lockdown will undeniably have had some impact, but the game-changer has been vaccine. Compare the EU.

Covid kills 1 in 8 of people above 75

And kills 1 in 1000 of people above 40

And covid affects 1 in 3 by long term neurological issues

Don't ignore any vaccine even if it's proven to affect 1 in million

Do some risk analysis. Don't fall in to vaccine scare stories

The risk of the AZ Vax is so tiny that it's almost negligible but the media seem so focused on possible side effects that it will no doubt discourage people from having it.

If I didn't already know most news outlets have no scruples I'd say they had an agenda.

EU countries opted against further Moderna orders as they'd have arrived towards Autumn 2021 - too late.

The EU has provided zero evidence that AZ vaccine increases likelihood of blood clots - all punctures to veins present minute blood clot risk (i.e. almost all vaccines ever made).

The EU has just missed another vaccination target (80% of elderly) by miles.

The EU has blocked exports.

Presumably those pushing the anti-AZ agenda because of clot risk will also be abstaining from aircraft flights, long train journeys or drives, avoid staying in bed too long, not smoke, not become pregnant or give up birth control pills?

If not then one must presume they are politically driven. Anything else would be hypocritical

The possible long-term side effects of all Covid vaccines have not been examined as clinical trials were curtailed. Neither have possible interactions with other medications a person is already taking. Sometimes people just forget how many vaccination doses have been administered so far worldwide: about 87 million in India and 171 million in the USA for example. The per 100 number makes some people forget the absolute number of doses.
