Chelsea bounce back to beat Porto in Champions League
07/04/2021 | sport | football | 869
Chelsea bounce back from a testing few days to secure a crucial first leg quarter-final away win over Porto in the Champions League.
You Chelsea lot should just take the hint. In European Football you are still a little club with a big ego. If only John Terry didn't miss that penalty on purpose you may have had another trophy.
Chelsea are a team in Blue who act the same as that team in Blue in the L5 District of Liverpool. Both bring nothing to their respective cities.

It’s interesting how each quarter finalist has different skills:
Porto played out of their skins
Chelsea new found pizazz with TT
Dortmund have a goal machine superstar
City a complete team with few weaknesses
Real Madrid living on reputation
Liverpool cheats frauds and divers, no pen no win
PSG two superstars
Bayern Munich like City a complete team

Worrying how ineffective both big money signings Warner and Havertz were. Neither could hold the ball up or looked like causing problems for the Porto defenders. Two lightweights. Amazed that Tuchal selected both for this game. No wonder Chelsea are said to be anxious to get Lukaku to Stamford Bridge.

Watched last night and think Tuchel is wrestling with the dilemna of continuing to play his 2 countrymen but with sparse reward, if any at all. Liverpool and MU outspent everybody for years using the money their success deservedly brought them.
Neither side had the benefit of a kickstart, or decade(+) of massive cash input from an oligarch or a sheik.
Compare the records/trophy hauls of Chelsea and MC pre- and post- golden ticket, and draw your own conclusion.
BM also doing it the LFC/MU way.

Mount and Foden have won a World Cup together, beating Spain and Brazil in the process. That alone gives them more useful experience for tournaments than playing Burnley twice a year for ten years. Should be a joint foundation of the England team to come for a few years if treated correctly. Add in Kane and Sterling and build everything else around to suit.

Chelsea since Roman arrived - traded at a loss. Serious loss. By all accounts CFC over spent. Being a profitable business is not Chelsea. They've not made any profit at the club since 1998. That's the last year they made sensible profit.
Everything they make is just catch up money. They also have a financial burden of £+000's million wastage on Youth Players signed long term contracts & released.

And your point is what ?

Are Chelsea supposed to be making a profit ? They are currently 2nd on the all time league title list, with 5 PL’s behind Utd on 13.
