If you live and work in the centre of a city then you don’t need an SUV….

They take up so much space, particularly when parking, Pollute much more and barely fit down some roads. Seriously what is the point of them in cities, and if your only response is “for my children” I’d say make the little porkies walk for a change, it’s not like they are far away from much in a city.
Man, I bet you're a right old raucous laugh at parties. Removed

Well the parties I go to tend not to discuss the benefits of SUVs in the cities but I guess my parties aren't as fun as yours are

'should think twice' - just too weak and feeble. Needs to be a pneumatic, circular rubber, vehicle to road interface deflation campaign whereby street urchins are paid to collect the valves and paid for a bucket of such - maybe they could compete for a DOTTY Deflator Of The Year award. Removed

The myopic woke that sleep with one eye open.
City dwellers should think twice about clogging up the footpaths, cafes and shops with multiple kids in buggies so everyone has to move around them. This also applies to the selfish morons who have 3 or more dogs, there's just no need! Removed

You do care and very desperately about it along with all aspects of your ego and projected image. So tell me about your childhood..........
If you honestly think I am concerned about what a very small yet vocal puritanical subset of society at large thinks about me or any aspect of my life, well, good luck with that!

In fact, the opposite is true: I *positively revel* in the indignation, it makes my day, truly.

I've no doubt there are drivers who can handle these vehicles properly, but with SUVs being fitted with cameras & warning sounds, why do so many struggle to park them & get them through gaps?

Now the UK is free of the EU it needs to tax the heavier, larger more polluting SUVs heavily, be that through a car purchase tax, VED or VAT - or indeed all three. Snag, majority of drivers are probably Tory voters and / or donors.

Makes me laugh how when in snow, despite 4 wheel-drive, most drivers haven't a clue and still get stuck!
What has political affiliation got to do with it? Idiot. Removed

So the campaign to force JLR to move to Slovakia completely continues

Castle Bromwich, which made 12,000 Spitfires and 300 Lancasters then, since the war, Jaguars and TR7s, has already ceased manufacturing for good

Honda’s Swindon plant has just been sold dirt cheap to a foreign property developer

Heh!

Well, at least I know a Range Rover Evoque actually has a (considerably) smaller footprint than a Ford Focus estate, so that's something eh Jane?

I've just ordered one for my wife if that helps. I'm sure she'll be devastated.

The roads around the Cobham Triangle are fearsome during school runs. Almost every car on the road at that time is a huge tank. Having a very low sports car myself, and having been hit three times by SUVs, I now avoid roads at that time. Driving a tank gives a woman confidence amongst all the other intimidating tanks that clog the roads.

I'll keep on driving my oversized 4x4 because I know it'll

a) annoy the climate change activists
b) go faster and longer than a toy car powered by 4 duracells
c) fit more non recyclable junk in it that I can't recycle on the way to landfill
d) force hippy vans to reverse on country roads

Last and not least.

I can think for myself and don't need to kiss Greta's feet for social media likes.

Dont worry new Land rovers are the least reliable cars on the road. But these dumb people will buy anything to show off at the school gate.
You know what is reliable? Bitter people commenting about things they can’t afford. PEASANTS EVERYWHERE. Removed

Just two things to throw in the mix.
1) Urban music glorifies the ownership of status symbols, especially the Mercedes G-Wagon. So why all the hate directed an urban Mums?
2) My family survived a serious accident due to driving a SUV(Volvo) the police explained I would have survived in normal car. I make no apology for driving another (have planted 350 trees on my farm to offset the carbon)

There isn’t any difference because after the SUV has driven over the hedgehog both have pricks on the inside. Removed
