Well go and stay there then. Preferably a small island in the middle of the Atlantic. Get rid of people like you and other selfish people posting here and we would have less pollution more housing for those in need of it higher employment less impact on the health service having to treat selfish persons who ignore the warnings and get covid. Just go. Bye bye.

It was billed as allowing our freedom back, whilst at the same time, taking even more freedoms away.

So either the free tests are not worth having (so why waste all that money) or someone is doing very nicely out of airport testing?

If we have to stop all non-essential international travel for another year, so be it. And I say that as somebody with family and friends in other countries.

It's this or endless lockdowns, so they can pipe down.
GROW UP!, you are insensitive, just because you don't want to see family and friends, don't push that on to other people, bully for you that you want to stay in your cave just rocking in the corner! Removed

We're a democracy. We go with the best thing for the majority. The majority have their friends and family in this country and don't want the minority to bring back mutated viruses from abroad so there are more lockdowns and isolation.
Having international families and relationships are a risk and I hope people realise this now.

Couldn't agree more. Vaccination was supposed to free us up. And by the way all viruses mutate, it's what they do. And there is nothing a Government likes more than scared people.
Either, pay the money and do the tests for ALL foreign travel and don't forget to isolate! or don't go.
personally I will be doing the latter.

Look at footfall reduction in retail, in UK v US, 80% reduction v 20% reduction. Ask yourself why the US has a lower infection rate per 100,000 ?
UK Government has made criminal mess of this whole thing and still continues to do so.

The free tests were only introduced to keep teachers quiet, and then extended to get people back to work.
The expensive tests are demanded by other countries so we're doing the same to get even more of an economic boost from 'opening up' travel again.

Travel requires PCR testing as per most international requirements ... Lateral flow testing is less accurate but still helpful.

Why should the tax payer fund anyone who wishes to travel abroad ... perhaps the tax should also fund the tickets, accommodation and meals ?

Nobody should be travelling without a life/death reason, or to perform Critical work

Tourism brought Covid-19 to the UK. Spread over 5,000 unique infections throughout the country in a couple of weeks. The Airline and Travel companies publicly campaigned to continue allowing travel knowing they were undermining the UK and knowing their actions would kill many. Jail them for mass murder.

I don't care about the level of risk, it's still a risk and there should be no travel either way between countries until medical evidence proves that there is no risk at all.

The government cannot in all seriousness expect everyone displaying symptoms to isolate, as many travellers are simply too selfish and inconsiderate, especially those coming from abroad.

Frequent tests are a waste of time.
Do you have any concept of what the word 'risk' actually means?

There is no such thing as no risk.

There is still a risk that somebody comes over the channel on a dingy carrying the black death.
