Covid: Europe's vaccine rollout 'unacceptably slow' - WHO

The WHO says the situation in the wider Europe region is more worrying than it has been in several months.
You Brexiteers, don't be too smug. There's the little problem of a 76% fall in food and drink sales to the EU that your wisdom has caused. Removed

I think it's disgrace how ministers in the EU have been, over vaccinating their people. I hope people will sue the backsides off of all of them. They are now responsible for people dying and businesses going under, as there is no excuses for not using the vaccines they are stockpiling. The fact they are still bleating on about not getting their quota is a joke!! Use the ones you got first!
How many EU members does it take to change a light bulb. 27 of course, but would probably take them 6 months to decide where to get it. And not one of them answerable to anyone. Removed

The EU dithered while the UK invested in Science and production.
We backed researchers with cash up front and a contract guaranteeing we would get the jabs early doors.
The EU squabbled over pennies, didn't invest, undermined the vaccines safety, blocked export while failing to jab those who want it. Then they blame the UK for their failures!

Germany - 10 medical forms to fill in to get 1 jab!

The 150k figure you have quoted is overstated, excessive deaths are nearer 125k, still bad. I would be very careful if you wanted to compare death rates between countries. Methods and accuracy of reporting are important. I have seen the strange talk and rules in Germany. At one point they did not GP's to administer. In Niedersachsen only certain special Drs allowed to inject.

I think it is down to simple incompetence. No conspiracy theories needed. No complicated explanation needed. Simple incompetence.

The BBC are now jumping on the anti-EU bandwagon as state control of previously independent agencies spreads.
EU has vaccinated two & half times as many per capita as Russia or China. Twice as many as Canada. Six times as many as Australia. Four times as many as Mexico. Three times the world average.
Not brilliant but hard to see why they are being singled out for derision.
Why not Canada, BBC?
