Typical BBC.
The UK variant is very contagious though. Raises the natural R number from 3 up to 5.

Good job our government didn't mention the new variant till December even though they knew about it in September......

We covered up the new variant even more than China covered up the original virus!!

There is a UK variant, a Brazil variant, and a South African variant. Names that are widely used to describe the variants. The BBC is not biased against the UK. The BBC is a centre right unionist organisation which is obvious to anyone who cares to look. The anti BBC agenda pushed by the right is to do with greed. You can't make money out of the BBC and its competitors hate it. Don't be a sheep.

Very difficult to understand why the BBC is so biased against the UK. Hopefully the new DG will sort it out and we end up with a national broadcaster that doesn’t continually try and make the UK look inferior to almost any other nation on earth. Audience figures falling like a stone, so it’s not just a minority who think the overpaid ‘luvvies’ are out of touch.

You are correct, the word 'hidden' (nascoste) was used, in that report. Not, however, by the Italian police. It simply says that AZ said the vials had not been hidden - in response to a question from the reporter. In fact that is true. lets remember when little England liberated France from the Germans growing their borders across Europe, now Germany closes its borders, after allowing migrants in from all over, so, has little England got to be the liberators of France yet again ?
All too redolent of the late 70s/early 80s when I can remember seeing 'NF' signs daubed on walls as a kid. This kind of insular nationalism is unhealthy and is damaging this country in so many ways that a lot don't realise yet.
Steve Bannon has got his way with many here, and there's a lot of non pandemic related economic wreckage that we can only be distracted from for so long..

To make matters worse for the useless Macron Merkel has now closed her borders against virus hit France.

I did our weekly shop on Wednesday. It took me a few extra minutes but checked every label, if a product originated from within the EU and there was a non EU alternative available I bought the non EU item. Interestingly the majority of alternative items originate from commonwealth countries, much happier how I spend my money I don’t want to give my money to vaccine bullies

I have read quite an interesting analysis earlier by Sky News on AZ and Europe. AZ, no matter how much it helped Britain, is not without criticism, AZ actually underestimated its capacity, over promised, etc. EU never wanted to compete with Britain, they just wanted their promised doses. I can understand they have been wronged and our pride in vaccination fails us to see their point of view.

Europe is in the position the UK was in when we locked down in January with 60k new cases a day

Nearing the end of a three-month lockdown we still have 6k

That is terrible

The vaccines are not working

This is no time for ghoulish gloating because what the continent is seeing now will be here in 3 weeks and a lot worse
