I don't think thy have any option other than to extend the extraordinary powers at the current time - we're not quite out of the woods yet.

It's just unfortunate we have the Monstrous Muppet nominally in charge. I would have thought with everything else that's going on here and in the rest of the world, having Union flags flying on all government buildings would have been way down the list.
Personally, I want to see the Union flags flying on government buildings. It will not cost much and doesn't impinge on anything else. Removed

I would like to see an addition to the emergency powers that states that if you don't have the jab then you cannot claim benefits, are not allowed to work even from home, can only enter shops at specific times of the night & cannot leave the house unless you apply online. You will also have to wear a badge that shows you have not been vaccinated (a gold star). Up to you if you have the jab.

484 members should be exceptionally ashamed of themselves tonight. Getting to the point where we need some serious civil disobedience.

UK has become a country of subservient sheeple, The press has helped herd the sheep in to place, the BBC being the main Covid fear mongering cheerleader. The powers need to be released not extended

You mean you have to opt out of organ donation? Unless you are a foolhardy young motorcyclist this is unlikely. If well over 50 like me they will not want them anyway.....

Just opt out and haud your wheesht

If you are still breathing I can see your objection. Otherwise, why is that a problem? Your unfortunate loss of life could save someone else's.

The albino potato head in charge, decided to rally the thatcher'ous troops a couple of months ago, by dusting down the union jacks and nuclear weapons, playing the politics of hate and division, trying to divide us (the people) .. in the middle of a pandemic! .. Truly appalling, disgusting, disturbing, vile political strategy to gain support, by a party that only thrives by creating enemies. Removed

Calculations of risk and policy are for Johnson without due consideration - from lack of 'vocabulary' maybe OR from political dependence on 'special interests' - maybe not just TAKING for granted the net-saving of lives owed to lockdowns; maybe not missing the danger to all from Covid-mutation, but certainly ignorant or accepting of rejection (by 'someone') of SAGE repeated circuit-break strategy.
Translation, punctuation and grammar, please. Removed

Thanks. Replace semi-colon with comma! Comprehension and comment would be appreciated on the SAGE 'scenario' (see online, late October 2020) buried as 'NOT GOVERNMENT POLICY'. The gambling has predictably FAILED, and to go on lurching from long-lockdown to long-lockdown will result in unrest AND the break-through of variant disease.

Because it doesn't stop people from getting the virus and passing it on. It just stops you from suffering from the symptoms.

If you had done two minutes research you might have known that.

But shops and businesses will be open in April and its nearly the end of March now. You can go out now you just can't go to the pub/shops. You'll be able to get your haircut and nails done soon. Not long now, just suck it up for another couple of weeks and it'll soon be over. I doubt anyone will adhere to another lockdown so this has to be the end or there will be riots come summer

Probably because the police are told to "engage" with these mobs. I think you might find that, had the police not been there, that lot had every intention of marching into the school itself.

I do not know of any state that is divided into 4 Nations: not administrational regions or Counties but Nations!
UK is made up of 4 Nations!!! It is ridiculously medieval!
Are we back to Henry VIII? Are we leaving the Roman Catholic Church and expropriate the Monasteries' land again?
What are we doing?
Spanish Armada again?
More jingoism today?
