thing is, la liga can survive mainly on homegrown talent, despite the best players leaving it for England where they get preferential tax treatment.

it's definitely been weakening since they scrapped the "beckham law".

If La Liga is such as easy league. Then how come players like Suarez, Bale and Hazard. Who won player of the season awards in the premier league. Didn't manage to outshine Messi in La Liga?

How come Messi has scored 26 goals in 34 games against English clubs in the Champions League? And that's against the top English clubs, not the weak ones!

i dont think la liga is an easy league - i prefer it over any other.

But Bale failed because he's tripe.

As for Hazard - it's unfair to judge him on his performances - he was beginning to show amazing form until his international team mate ended his career.

In that game against PSG he was outstanding - RM were smashing them until Meunier smashed his ankle. King Keylor had kept them in it.

Your question does not make sense. It's as if it's Messi vs PL rather than PL vs La liga.

PL just more entertaining, don't think anyone truly believes la liga is easy, it's just the top 2-3 teams are way above the rest and it would probably be a similar story if they played in any nation.

Because Barca play to Messi, Messi doesn't play to the team the team play to him, give him to Argentina & you see instantly thats he's a created player as he cant play anywhere near the same, so they lose more than win. Depends on how you define the word "achievement"... For some the biggest achievement is winning the WC - which of course is an idiotic argument, as even a useless sub can be "winner", given he's lucky enough to be on a squad with a strong starting 11. If we put that aside, Messi is by huge margins the deadliest attacker football has ever witnessed. Nobody comes even close.

Clearly you didn't watch the game if you're trying to suggest Dest was as good as Messi. One of his goals was a clearance which ricocheted off Dest into the net. His other was set up by Messi.

Mickey mouse league that's dominated the Champions League and the Europa League over the last 15 years?

Not to mention:

Man United 9-0 Southampton
Liverpool 7-0 Crystal Palace
Man City 5-0 West Brom
Man City 5-0 Burnley

But yeah, there's clearly no easy games in the premier league.....

thing is, la liga can survive mainly on homegrown talent, despite the best players leaving it for England where they get preferential tax treatment.

it's definitely been weakening since they scrapped the "beckham law".

the uk is the world capital of preferential tax treatment for high earners. the whole system that the droolers around here legitimate is set up for exactly that.

i dont think la liga is an easy league - i prefer it over any other.

Yeah. Just because Leo can perform against terrible teams compared to Barça doesn’t mean he’s the best player(we all know who that is)at the moment. I think when he is now chucked into the Lion’s Den he will just not perform, we saw that vs PSG and it took some incredibly biased football to make people believe he was good. Far from it.

Your question does not make sense. It's as if it's Messi vs PL rather than PL vs La liga.

PL just more entertaining, don't think anyone truly believes la liga is easy, it's just the top 2-3 teams are way above the rest and it would probably be a similar story if they played in any nation.

They're not "way above the rest" though.

There is an 11 point gap between 1st and 4th in La Liga.

We have a 14 point gap between 1st and 2nd! (Albeit United have a game in hand)

But yeah, the Premier League has only had one close title race in the last 7 years. What's entertaining about that?

Ronaldo was outscored, out-assisted by Messi & won less trophies than Messi when both were in La Liga. He may have played in more leagues but he cherry picks the best teams so it's hardly a challenge. As for international trophies. That Euro for Portugal was a fluke due to an awful points system & he played 12 minutes of the final. Anyone counting that is have a laugh.

For the record Messi has never proven himself in any other league or team and likely never will. As Fergie said once "he's a Barcalona player".

Clearly you didn't watch the game if you're trying to suggest Dest was as good as Messi. One of his goals was a clearance which ricocheted off Dest into the net. His other was set up by Messi.

A, he didn't say that Dest was as good as Messi; he said that Dest also scored twice.

B, he's probably American. We're proud of the 20 year old wing back that scored two goals for Barcelona, today.

Seen Pele, Best, Messi play George Best was on a completely differently level, George Best is the only player I have seen that would single out a midfielder or defender and dribble the ball to them and invite them to try and tackle him. Is Messi GOAT? Messi is a talented player I doubt however he would shine in the premier league.

He's good, but he will never be the GOAT due to staying at Barcelona, most of his career he was surrounded by amazing player that made him look better than he actually is. Just look at how he is when playing for Argentina, bang average and won nothing. Players like Ronaldo are much better, he moved to 3 of the big leagues and still played good, he also won 2 trophies woth Portugal.
