Late goals take Man City through to semi-finals

Late goals from Ilkay Gundogan and Kevin de Bruyne keep Manchester City on course for a quadruple with an FA Cup quarter-final win at Everton.

Everton’s defence for 84 minutes was as tight as a tick's winky.
Dogged defending.
Then Ilkay Gundogan, pops up again. Poaching..
He’s a natural born striker at heart. Some player..
Some goal from Kevin de Bruyne too.
Manchester City deserved it...??

Imagine parking the bus, and still losing 2-0 to a Man City team with half the starting 11 on the bench and that's "progress"

Evertonian here. I hope you win the lot. Then everyone - I’m talking about the media, FA, PL - will have to give you some credit, unlike when you were the first team to win the domestic treble, but got zero recognition. Why? Because the cultists heroes, whose pockets they are all in won the (non-c L) against a mediocre PL team in the same season. Good luck mate.

They don’t understand that the correlation to onfield success is player wages and get stuck up on transfer fees which is what makes the news. It’s been that way since at least the 60s and possibly earlier.

Also regardless of whether you field 10 academy players plus one recruited player by definition that one recruit means you’ve ‘bought’ a title.

I can’t fault our gameplan. We had enough set pieces to score. We missed Keane who wins the most attacking headers in our team at set pieces.

Success is baseless in terms of a sporting entity with any any class and genuine local identity and soul, Macclesfield Town could win anything they wanted if bought by an Arab state. There is genuinely nothing to be proud of and that's a shame .

It's comments like this that make watching City and Guardiola more beautiful. When Sir Alex F was winning nearly everything with Man Utd, what did you say?

Get ready with 'boring' Guardiola matches, he's going to win as many as he's around. He has an axe to grind with people like you. If he stays longer as Sir Alex did at Man Utd, oh God, forgive your sons, City will amass a haul of trophies.

they are not "back-up players" though, Pep uses the whole squad to achieve the win, he plays players with particular skill sets to defeat an opponent.
it is amazing to see.
forget 'money spent' jealous comments from opposing fans, these players are round pegs in round holes; and if he needs a square peg, they change shape. that's what Pep brings to any team, no matter how talented - cohesion.
