Great game, hope we can stop going on about the toss.

Well done Thakur, not just because it was the last over, not just because Archer put him under pressure, but because he had to do it with Rohit and Pandya around him like clowns. I hope they look back and reflect

Bowlers never get credit anymore. We saw it in the test series and again here in the T20s - whenever there is a low scoring game, the wicket/toss gets commented on but when runs are scored, batsman are applauded. This result shows that the bowlers in each 1st innings should have been given much more credit in the first 3 T20s. India played well today and have set up an exciting 5th T20!

Brilliant from India in the End. Shardul Thakur with 3 critical wickets, Rahul Chahar with 2 wickets and decent fielding, showing why Yuzvendra Chahal(tutti) should be NOWHERE NEAR THE TEAM, and Bhuvi and Pandya brilliant with the ball! Sundar took two catches and did well in the field, and hopefully India, with starters resting up, will end up winning the t20 series!! Future's bright for India!!

Absolutely brilliant game of cricket! Outstanding bowling from India who set a really good batting score. Super exciting decider on Saturday! No need for England to panic, think 8 or 9 players are nailed on for WC. Sam Curran is out, bad fielder, batsman and bowler - Root way better at all 3 and Moeen at least 2. Staying with Malan but he needs a BIG decider match. Can’t wait for Saturday!

A very poor pitch and again the umpires have had a mare. Changing the balls when we are hitting bourndaries and it appears bowling down the leg side is not a wide when England are batting.

I think this is more down to how umpires are directed to resolve appeals. It used to be that the benefit of any doubt was granted to batsmen, but directing umpires to declare a "soft signal" of out.not out negates that benefit. If there is doubt in the onfield umpire's mind that doubt should automatically be in favour of the batsman and any "soft signal" to the 3rd umpire should be "not out".

Players of all countries should be ashamed of themselves. They are setting bad examples to all; that winning is more important than playing fairly.

Poor show by all.

It’s the “soft signal” which is odd. Hard for off field umpire to overturn. ‘Let’s go upstairs cause I don’t have a clue but I’m guessing (soft signal) it’s out.’
Malan’s Twitter feed will be ugly- but he wouldn’t have known the ball hit the ground diving forward at pace

Well done Thakur, not just because it was the last over, not just because Archer put him under pressure, but because he had to do it with Rohit and Pandya around him like clowns. I hope they look back and reflect

Make no mistake, India won because Kohli was missing in the last few overs and Rohit was captaining the side. Rohit keeps a cool head and that is why he is such a successful captain winning 5 IPLs while Kohli is a dud. Kohli should take this as a sign and step down if India wants to give themselves a chance to win the world cup.

Agree with this post. Kohli's style makes him a great batsman but not a great captain. But no one in the Indian side has the courage to confront him or ask him to step aside for another bloke to take over captaincy.

Good game of cricket.

Suryakumar Yadav looked every bit as good in his debut innings as we thought he would on evidence of his exploits in the IPL. Another promising talent.

Chasing 180+ is difficult in a T20, and I think it’s possibly because England’s middle order didn’t have enough match time in previous games that they were found wanting when they were given the job of taking it home.

Just like Stokes did in one of the Tests, knew they didn't take the catch cleanly but still tried to cheat by claiming it. However Stokes didn't get away with it but sadly Malan did so today - however justice was done in England not winning the match!

There is no way he would have known, at that speed you can never really tell as a player if it has carried. Also, the problem with these catches is that they always look like they have touched the ground because of how the zoom works. I guess that is why there is a soft signal, because the technology isn't 100% accurate at picking it up.

What's happened to player honestly in the game. Malan must have known he picked that ball off the grass. He would be more respected by coming clean.

Just like Stokes did in one of the Tests, knew they didn't take the catch cleanly but still tried to cheat by claiming it. However Stokes didn't get away with it but sadly Malan did so today - however justice was done in England not winning the match!

A thoroughly professional job from India.

Loss the toss, posted a decent score then
had to bowl second and contend with the dew. India had a plan and kept to it, the bowlers were magnificent!

Great performances from Yadav, Chahar and Thakur.

Lose the toss... win the game????

The win is important but more so is the experience of bowling second and winning!

Game on... can’t wait for Saturday!

Poor England can't find a way to win despite winning toss and batting last with dew advantages.

What caused England's loss today?

(1) Bad pitch
(2) Bad umpiring
(3) Bad weather
(4) Bad food
(5) Bad crowd
(6) Chahal's poor fielding
(7) Thakur's poor fielding
(8) Kohli's bad behaviour

Let's vote!

Neither Curran should be anywhere near this England team, in any format.
Joe Root should take his place.
Do you remember in the World Cup final when Joe dismissed Gayle and Lewis in the first over of the game with his spin.

That is how we should be operating.

A very poor pitch and again the umpires have had a mare. Changing the balls when we are hitting bourndaries and it appears bowling down the leg side is not a wide when England are batting.

Like I said, those umpires are keeping this series interesting.

Agree. That's why we need to refer to this ready-reckoner for finding the excuse for today's loss.

Still going to whinge about umpiring. Not today because no matter how wrong they were as long as it is in your favour it doesn’t matter. The ball had clearly touched the ground. Try to accept that sometimes it goes against you or in favour but please don’t start complaining of bias as soon as it goes against

Why did it take England 2 hours to bowl the 20 overs? When 20/20 started teams had 75 minutes to bowl their allocation, with penalty runs added for any incomplete overs.
Also, why is Sam Curran playing?

Because he had a good IPL. No idea why Morgan is bowling him 12 overs into the innings, though. Curran should bowl with the new ball or not at all.

Do you really even understand what the award was about. He got the wicket of stokes and morgs who could have won the match so he changed the match by that. Also leaving those 3-4 balls by him in the end he and other bowlers bowled really well with so much dew. So India played well and so did England by taking the game so close. Calling it horrendous!!
