UK exports to European Union drop 40% in January

Official figures show a sharp drop in trade in goods with the EU as the Brexit transition period ended.
Quite a success for Mr Blobby who will no doubt blame COVID. Etonian Mr Blobby does not care about business....(f.....business....) but we all feel so much better for having sovereignty. Wow! The man is a shambles. Removed

Nothing here is particularly surprising as most honest brexiteers knew there would be a short term financial hit. I never know why we moan so much when there is so much evidence that millions and millions of Europeans want to follow our example but will not be given the choice. We have won the moral argument and will win the economic battle but it won't happen in a couple of months.
I'd love the detail for how we're going to "win the economic battle" because there's zero I can see. The big win for Brexiters was a trade deal with the US. That was forecast to gain up to 0.16% of GDP over 10 years. Brexit has already cost 3% up to this point with the same again expected due to this hideous trade deal.

So basically you're talking out of your arse.

What about the impact of covid, not just on finished items, but along the whole supply chain?
Also containers that are used to import/export products are stuck in the wrong ports around the world as lockdowns take hold, so even finished items are stranded.

Brexit was based on lies. Remember the red bus? £350 million a week to go to the NHS instead of Brussels? Fast forward five years. NHS staff to get 1% pay rise because there's no money. EU imports and exports decimated. And to cap it all the cost of Brexit has exceeded the total UK contribution to the EU over it's entire 47 year membership. Brexiters. Some EUers say my post are grammatically challenge, however I find EUers post logically and factually challenged.

EU has failed since Brexit, not got its act together for a few years, I do fear for the EU, EU if fails will be terrible for Europeans however can’t see an alternative, they needed UK to steady the egos (but pushed us away) now EU a lost cause.

I think the bitterness in EUers post is that they know a year before UK left the EU was as good as it gets, the EU today is not as bad as it’s going to get, when and if pandemic ends the fall out begins and excuses made within EUland

I hope the EUers like their humble pie served cool, nothing to do with revenge I feel embarrassed for you, think pie is bitter though

UK export to EU

The EUers post how everything is bad going to be bad, actually it’s not that bad, we were told that everything was going to be terrible so our expectations were as low as could be, we were to starve, UK completely collapse, yet didn’t happen, so we exceeded expectations, and over achieved whereas EU has under preformed and is the system to collapse, strange how the story plays out

UK citizens can't get custom made expensive dutch bikes.

EU citizens can't get a covid vaccine.

But yeah, tell us all how Brexit failed....if you have had your covid vaccine Brexit saved your life.
--------

EU citizens CAN get a covid vaccine.

Nice try with your repetitive boring lies.

Emma you have lost it haven’t you, you seem such an easy target.

Don’t tell anyone but it’s the EU that lies and it’s all the time, your the only one who don’t know.

UK still exporting to EU, they can’t get enough of our produce.
Wonder if those Dutch border guards enjoyed those ham sandwiches they confiscated from the UK lorry driver. Just hope they weren’t upset when they realised they had English mustard plastered on them, and not the weaker French. Removed

Perhaps they did as it would be the mustard produced partly by a Dutch company, used to be Colmans, now produced by Reckitt Benckiser Group plc (RB), the merger of British company Reckitt & Colman plc and Dutch company Benckiser N.V.

You couldn't make it up could you.....

Now is the time for cool heads and wise counsel!!!

Unfortunately rational thought, reasoned arguments and the facts are being drowned out by the screams and howls of over excited lefties desperate to conceal the fact the Brexit is turning out to be a resounding success!!!

Still asking what party with any polical clout is proposing rejoin the eu apart from SNP?
It's certainly not labour, or the lib dems, as they've said 3 times on tv they won't at next GE.
I know you must be sad, but tough

I see you have a degree in English ... impressive use of grammar ... the 'don't matter' is particularly appealing and only reaffirms the intelligence of those superior people who know the EU is all anyone needs ... like a good bowel motion every day.

Will the real leader of the rejoin party stand up and be identified?
No, didn't think so

I would of thought it was very boring.

Not as bad as reading it though.
You keep wondering that. About 50 times a day. Why’s that then?

Forget Brexit for a minute. Off topic perhaps but good news for world health particularly

Reuters "The United States and three of its closest Indo-Pacific partners [India, Japan, Austrailia] committed to supplying up to a billion coronavirus vaccine doses across Asia by the end of 2022 at a summit on Friday carefully choreographed to counter China’s growing influence."

Big number - well done!

Gammons are just bitter because they’re getting on a bit & young folk have so much to look forward to.

Still, doing a Brexit on their chances was more than a bit mean.

It’s not youngsters’ fault that you gammons have had your day & done little.

Get lost. All the gammons I know voted remain. Suck it up. Our second house in 1989 the mortgage was 14.5%. one salary for the repayments and the other for everything else. Everything. I'm talking a one bedroom flat.
