I have a friend who came over for his mother's funeral from the USA. He was fully prepared, did exactly as he was told, including all the testing and self-isolating. He knew it would be stressful and didn't complain. People should only fly if it's essential, and like my friend, accept the restrictions with good grace.

Facts:

1) Travel is allowed for specified reasons

2) Queues are the result of the incompetence of Priti Patel's department, not the innocent and legitimate travellers

3) People in the UK are more likely to spread the virus than travellers who undergo multiple tests and quarantine

4) The actions of the UK government led to the third wave

5) Priti Patel is a brexiteer, expect incompetence

People should not be travelling internationally during a worldwide pandemic so they have got nothing to complain about, the instruction to 'Stay at Home' means everyone and if everyone did stay at home there would be no queues at the airport.
there would also be a lot less deaths caused by these miserable sh!ts Removed
Does anyone else not find it strange that the BBC are very happy for us to comment on queues in airports but clearly don't wish to see or hear any comments about freedom of speech (PMvMM) It's perhaps that they, the BBC, dont want to see or hear the overwhelming number of people who support freedom of speech and PM able to have a platform. You know the problem with all these rules, regulations, forms and restrictions on our lives is that in a population of 70 million people they are simply impossible to enforce, however well intentioned. Which largely makes them worthless. The more red tape you produce the less people will take any notice. You have to get the trust of the public on your side, otherwise it just doesn't work.
Especially if the people who enforce the laws of the land are busy murdering young women in London Removed

Harry and Megan side stepped the UK Press and the RF didn't take it kindly. The situation was private and the press were the problem beyond anything else.

This is a regular experience (independent of the pandemic) for those coming from non-western/non-EU countries. Whilst I understand visas and checking people from those countries generally may require a bit more time, the situation is inhumane and the treatment often humiliating. Especially if you clearly have other visas/stamps in your passport.
