Amazing! Well played NZ. Australia out of the World Test Championship, lost the India series at home and now losing this. Happy days for ABA fans.
Cricket will miss the absence of Paine’s rapier wit and sage like predictions over the stump mike though throughout the course of the WTC.
Next stop world test finals!
Haha Aussies... Getting humiliated yet again. A'ppy days !!

Absolutely!
Well played NZ. Always competitive. Guptill a key player in white ball cricket.
Australia are a team in terminal decline. In recent years their only victories have come with “outside assistance” like sandpaper - otherwise they haven’t won a single game in any format for a good six or seven years.
Always nice to get a Win over your Neighbours so well done NZ.
Yes they slowly ticking away with their cricket at the moment where as Eng, Aussie and the Indians in the limelight.
Anyway at least Cricket is happening globally keeping all happy well some that is.

Kiwis improving on all fronts in cricket despite meagre resources compared to England and Aus. Love to see them win the World Test Championship. Australia have lost their way. Big Bash used to be a great T20 competition but now it's a long drawn out bore fest and their players seem to get worse. ECB please take note, wasting good money on the doomed Hundred.
It was a great series and super it went to a final decider which NZ won convincingly. However it must be said that although NZ were missing the likes of Wagner and Ferguson, Oz were without Starc, Cummins, Smith and Warner.. and a roll of sandpaper.
Victory all the sweeter for doing it in beige.
(Next time the Aussies are over here, we should make them wear convict arrows.)

Well done Black Caps. Another article on the BBC basically says the World Test Championship is India's to lose. That Kohli's arrogance is rubbing off on his team as dominance. We'll see. Pride comes before the fall. Never count out a good NZ side. They were ranked as outsiders before both of the last two ICC one day world cups and made both finals. English conditions could be just the ticket.
Hopefully a nice green top wicket!
Against England in the World Cup Final they choked, spare us the BS mate...they competitive come Tournament time their so ineffective. Forever bridesmaids to me wedding
Why is Mitch Marsh still in the team?
(Naive question with obvious answer.)

More to the point, why is this worthy of a HYS?
Why do we have an HYS on this when there are far more interesting things closer to home? Saracens losing to Pirates for example
You know what it is, Dougal.
You clicked on it, scrolled to the HYS, and left a snarky comment. Your comment is drivel.

Well done to the Kiwis - without a shadow of a doubt the most under-rated team in world cricket.
NZ are competitive in all forms of the game - and are particularly strong at home (or in similar - i.e. English - conditions).
I honestly think that the best result for the sport would be if the Kiwis win the World Test Championship - and I hope they do!

Got to admire the kiwis -
Good at every sport they contest.
Rugger -union & league
Cricket - tests and L over
Olympics - greatest medal haul / capita
Sailing - americas cup
Women’s netball - humping England
Name it and they compete well for 3m folk in a far flung land.

Not exactly sure the context of the word humping in the netball sense though ...
How did the Ladies do in the latest T20 series as do believe they lost.

Undisputed football champions of Oceania, regularly sending out their Under-12s to thump Tahiti, Kiribti and the Solomon Isles.
NZ certainly punch above their weight

Kenny - we'll see what happens over the 5 days.
But - out of interest, if you look at India's last tour of NZ - the Kiwis whitewashed the men from the subcontinent in the Test Matches....

If you call choking being done over by a stupid rule of count back on boundaries that has since been changed then it must be. With your lack of sensical writing skill I'm assuming you come from Australia. Butt hurt you just lost the series to us no doubt. Making two World Cup finals in a row is ineffective? You can eat your words later but they're such a jumble you'll probably chuck them back up.
Totally agree how great NZ are in all major sports. 2 successive World Cup ODI Finals was fantastic enough, but just as impressive was the way they dealt with a very unlucky defeat at Lords in 2019.
I think they have every chance of beating India in June.
And why only a 2 Test match series v England as ever, especially when ranked 2nd in the world and not having been over here since 2015!

In (I think) 1949, NZ had a 4-test series in England. In those days there was only one Test series per year in England, and countries took their turns. And, of course, the touring squad were here for about 4 months, playing most of the counties and a few festival matches as well. Happy days, but they will not come again, more's the pity.
Its even less playing Aus when they are just a two hour flight away. The number of tests that NZ play a year is much less than India, England and Australia will play. Someone like Kane Williamson will play about half the tests Virat Kohli will play during their careers. This is probably the best NZ team ever - surely they deserve better treatment?
I'm surprised the game went ahead with the forecast of a tsunami or perhaps that was a ploy to get Australia looking skywards in case a 60ft wave was coming for them & not watching the ball, whatever it was NZ fully deserved this series win, some superb batting stunning bowling & kept their heads when others lost theirs, well done NZ take a bow

New Zealand are obviously a strong team, but, given that they play almost all their international matches at home, it's hard to gauge how good they really are
Nice try Marord. But obviously incorrect. During NZ summer Kiwis play home games (like mist teams). In NZ off-season NZ play away. Simple really
