3/4 tosses won by Root, 4 batsmen got decent starts. Please for heavens sake no whining now and may the better team under the conditions win the match. Game on and good luck to both teams.
No whining about pitch from this England fan. This is more of a typical Indian test pitch. England just didn't apply themselves. That mixed with unlucky dismissals of Bairstow and Pope and we could of been sitting 250-4/5 at end of day
They haven't whinged! The media have.
Two points of observation:
1) Scoring 205 is an improvement over the previous match where they managed 193 in two innings. It was a treat to see Jimmy take a wicket with no runs on the board.
2) There is a noticeable absence of female voices in the commentary booth.
Hope for a good day with the ball tomorrow. Go England!

I've lost interest following the pitch doctoring of the last test. The fact that we play India AGAIN this summer is quite depressing. I can't believe the fans or players of either side want to see yet another series. The naked greed of both boards seems to override all other considerations. A full test series against NZ this summer would have been infinitely preferable.

Can I point out that in the 5 innings where India have batted a fullinnings, they are averaging around 250 runs.
So, no need for you ABE types to start giving them rimjobs. Removed

Stokes can't handle Siraj, mouths crap at him. Siraj tells him captain and Kohli shuts up the gangster Stokes. Totally uncivilized way to play cricket Stoksie. What about Bairstow not leaving after the umpire have him out ? What arrogance. I'm sure BBC won't having screaming headlines about all this.
On the way back to the hotel the England team bus skidded off the road, and went into a river. Fortunately nobody was hurt as all the players were able to get out quickly.

For a brief moment I thought it really did happen - the river part that is ??

We won the first Test by a big margin which loaded the players with over confidence. That was shattered in the second Test, and our players could not believe it. They still can't let go of their demons in the fourth one
All aspects of English cricket management requires a complete overhaul. The people, the strategy and the tactics. It is possible to make big money and produce talent as the BCCI has shown. Dislike them all you want but emulate whatever is good.
Nothing in English cricket is working at present. Except that the players and management are getting richer.

Mohamad Siraj looks lethal. Can't wait to see him bowl in England!
Most fair minded people regard the Indian doctoring of the pitches as being worse than the disgraceful sandpaper scandal. It’s state sponsored cheating that equates to the Russian doping of athletes and the Soviet states’ disgusting abuses of the 1980s. Sad really.

No we don't.
And yes, Trumpism has spread beyond US. You can spread a lie adding "most believe", "many people say" .....

Cricket is being ruined by dishonest cricketing nations like India and Australia. Dodgy pitches, sledging and sandpaper bring shame on our game - both countries should be banned for at least five years. Decent countries like England and Pakistan set a great example of fairness.

So it's always the pitches fault that England cricketers can't bat
India's spin-twin before this series - R2, or Ravi-Ravi (Ravi Ashwin, Ravi Jadeja)
India's spin-twin this series - A2
If Axar can become 70-80% of Jadeja while batting and fielding, India will have a happy selection headache. And a scary depth in the spin department, too.

There’s no hurry in this test match. India need to bat with intelligence and patience. There are no demons in this track and not one English bowler the batsmen should be afraid of in home conditions.
Keep England out in the hot field all day, roasting slowly under the Gujarat sunshine whilst building a significant lead and then rip through the English batting card like a battering ram! ????

Come on New Zealand in the World Test final. Anyone but India! The most nauseating fans.
