The study measured infection rates in school staff and pupils in November and December.
Wrong answer yet again unions.
All children and students must go back asap. Yes it will increase infections and yes it will increase deaths (but not by much thanks to the success of the vaccine roll out) but this is a calculated risk and is WORTH IT for the future opportunities of 15 million young people.

Teachers - little hitlers when they cannot get their own way, they hate being told by others what they can or carnt do. Suck it up buttercups and get in line and wait your turn.

Your use of English show you had many difficulties at school. However, using a term like "hitlers" (sic) is extremely offensive. You can say whatever, but you need not to use such an offensive term. I am surprised the moderators passed it.

Were you not very good at school perhaps?
This sector (Can’t call it a profession any more) has become a haven for feminists and woke culture.
Teachers & the unions are having a laugh. They are not in a high risk profession, they are not working in hospitals or care professions.
Droves of retired medical professionals rolled up their sleeves & returned to work “For the good of all” Removed

Sorry, who is abusing teachers exactly?
Maybe your GP is working from home ?
I am a GP and have worked throughout the Pandemic from our Practice - we have never been closed and have seen patients face to face from Day One. We have been in Nursing Homes and patient's own homes caring for both Covid and Non-Covid palliative patients and also non-terminally ill housebound.

Here we go again, let’s water it all down, let’s blame the unions let’s have more death and let’s see if we can give this Brazilian a helping hand. And let’s forget every benefit that unions have brought to the workers of this country. No wonder the uk is under threat, this is what you get when the clowns run the circus.
if any group of ppl can have a generalisation applied, it's ppl who dont like teachers.
get over yourselves, it was a long time ago and they were just trying to do their job

You are being very complementary... They are far worse than that :-)
So schools are safe whereas indoor shopping venues, pubs, restaurants et al are not.
I think schools returning will cause a big spike again in covid cases, as it did the last time schools returned.
But teachers seem fair cannon fodder and the coal mine budgey for this 'experiment'.
At the very least no school teacher should be in a classroom without both doses of vaccine, and jab the kids too

I recall receiving a 60 ponds fine for taking my autistic daughter out of school for 4 days for a family holiday.
The snotty letter stated a child’s education was more important than anything (paraphrasing) along with how much just mission 1 session delayed their education.
Funny how they’re perfectly happen with them missing months because their unions say so.

I think the nation needs protection from Teachers not the other way around…. Maybe teachers can work from home..... Oh sorry I forgot thats called bringing up your own children.... not popular with women who have children then want someone else to look after them.

Oh, it's the fault of women, is it?
As I have said here before teachers are the biggest snowflakes going. Unions just want their members to sit at home not earning their corn.
Removed
A Union's job is to look after the wellbeing of their members. If schools are safe, the Government must expect to be sued if any teachers get infected and suffer ill health.
I don't really understand why teachers couldn't have had the half vaccine. It would have delayed the pensioners, who are fit and healthy by one day. Why are they so selfish that they can't sit at home for one more day?

What are your qualifications for making that statement? Are you a professional musician?
My wife works in wine retail. During lockdown she works 10 hour days 6 days a week to facilitate all the people getting pissed. Which resulted in me doing all the childcare for a 2 and 6 year old, along with everything else associated with that, while still trying to keep my self employed business ticking over. Yes teachers work hard but so do millions of other people without the plaudits..
Oh, it's the fault of women, is it?
So the lazy, unionised, state school teachers can get back to work ...

Get your facts right
Teachers have been teaching key workers children and vulnerable children throughout.
My daughter has Covid caught from one of the children in the class.

How about OAPs during vol work in schools,it may then shut them up!!!

What has the article got to do with OAP’s??
Shameful comment!!

Quite a few have done just as you say. The children were very close to adults and coughing and sneezing as well as shouting and even singing right up close. Post maternity leave teachers have to go through every strain of bug that is going around until they are back in the flow. They are not immune.
Teachers are about as useful as BBC newsreaders… Trotting out pre-prepared lines with left wing bias.
I don’t see that as a national priority…
Fact is teachers are glorified childminders…. And should be paid accordingly. Removed

Wow, criticise teachers or BBC and comment removed. Why bother. Free speech. WHAT

I know that feeling.... Censored for speaking truth to power.... Feels like Russia but then again the BBC is a hard left organisation :-)
Do the unions have the slightest idea how much their scaredy cat whinging is making people hate teachers?
When I taught in schools I never joined any union because I didn't want any of the stigma associated with them to rub off on me.
Teaching unions are a good teacher's very worst enemy.

For something that is unnecessary for 99% of the population anyway.
Because you're a forking remtard that made all this up in your deranged tiny little mind?
BBC. Can you show me evidence of the isolated and purified sample of Sars-Cov-2 because apparently even the CDC doesn't have a sample. Are you fake news?. What are you testing for and how can you identify a new variant when the first hasn't been isolated a purified? Is it Influenza A and Influenza B? #Convid

What are you talking about? The CDC will even send you a sample of the virus if you ask them.
Are you one of those that thought the message on their web-site that said "virus isolates currently unavailable" meant the virus never existed rather than meaning their stocks had run out and virus samples were unavailable until they'd made some more?

Someone please explain why vaccines are being promoted and Ivermectin is being suppressed when there is very compelling evidence that it dramatically reduces hospitalisations, deaths and transmission? That alone should have the population challenging what is transpiring.
I have a daughter who's a teacher and she does not have it easy. Long days and work doesn't stop at the 5pm whistle. You get home, and you mark and prepare for tomorrow.
