It should have been won by halftime.

I have to say that overall Villa have performed much better this season than I was expecting, but given those performances Europe should have been well within our reach. It's still not over, but is unlikely now, and if we don't make it, then it'll have a knock-on affect in trying to attract top-end players in the summer.

Still, yet another clean sheet.

Wolves are good to watch but they desperately need a goalscoring number 9. Jose’ and Silva have played 30 matches and scored 2 goals and zero assists – worst return in the PL!! They can’t be always expecting Neto and Neves to score goals.

Like Villa who are now suffering for gambling and not bringing in a decent striker to change things around instead of relying on Watkins all the time. He's been great in many ways and I'm sure will be even better next season but to be brutally honest if his finishing had been better Villa could have made a realistic run at Europe this season even Top 4. They don't have a plan But.

What a thrilling game of football! It could've been 11 each! Both teams played extraordinary football and, due to this result, I've had to make a few changes to my Premier League predictions for this seasons grand finale, yet again! Here they are:

1st Aston Villa
2nd Man City
3rd Leicester City
4th West Ham

And in relegation:

17th Sheff Utd
18th Coventry
19th Liverpool
20th Man Utd

Good first half but really poor second. Too many of our players are not good enough, not enough characters to name them. Merson is right, without Grealish we don't create enough chances, we also need betters strikers. I have a horrible feeling this season will fizzle out. Must buy more quality in the summer, and that might include the manager if we are to push on.

Yes you are. There are only 12 miles between Molineux and Villa Park.

This is oldest league derby in world football, the two teams played each other on the opening day of the first league season back in 1888.

Plastic derbys like the London, Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffied, Stoke, Nottingham and North East ones didn't start until years later.

At he start of the season I said we could finish 12th..maybe but as the season progressed we looked so much better than most but over the past 5/6 weeks we've struggled to score goals and that's cost us hugely bcos we create enough to win a load of games. I believe this is a consequence of the coach playing the same players all season bar a couple of games here and there. Smith needs to wake up

As a Villa fan that was a fair result, Villa better first half and Wolves the second.

I cannot believe how poor we look, defence looks good, Watkins runs his heart out but the midfield looks a shambles, bringing Barkley on was a waste of time and best thing for him is a morning train back to London. £35- £40m, not in a million years, no impact when he came on. UTV!!

Nothing they can do about Grealish's injury, any team in the country would suffer to lose a player that influencial BUT Villa's failure to sign a decent striker who could give Watkins a rest and change things around and add something different when they need a goal is now looking like a lack of ambition in January.

What exactly were you expecting? This time 2 yrs ago we'd won 12 games having played 10 more in the championship, this time last year we were thumped at Leicester after recently being clueless at Watford & Bournemouth, and now we're surprisingly in the top 10 and that's not good enough for you. Success isnt instant, it's not guaranteed, & it takes time

If you read my hys I am saying to push on we need more quality if we want to to get top 6. Without Grealish we lack quality and that has been apparent since his injury. Also I've never been convinced about Smith as he has one way of playing despite what the team has achieved over the last 2 years. Do you not think 250 million spent should be able to produce more than what's been seen recently!!

I have to say that overall Villa have performed much better this season than I was expecting, but given those performances Europe should have been well within our reach.
