Xhaka error gifts Burnley point

Granit Xhaka's error presents Chris Wood with a bizarre equaliser to deprive Arsenal of victory against Burnley at Turf Moor.

Let’s not make this about the ‘penalties’ that were not given
Or Pepe’s glaring miss
Or Xhaka and Leno’s madness
Or Chamber’s impotence

For large sections of the match, we were poor, slow, ponderous and lacklustre
We were back to our rubbish best (or should that be best rubbish?)

And then we woke up in injury time..
So frustrating!!!

Anyway, MOTM Ben Mee well deserved

I’ve been an Arsenal fan since i was young , Iam now in my 60’s. This must be the worst Arsenal side I’ve seen in all that time. Will I renew my season tickets - doubtful. This game - two poor sides and a dull watch. It matters not now but they really ought to sort this handball shambles out for all the sides benefits - the VAR official is on a par with those clowns Hancock and BJ !!!

Have to say Burnley were the better team today, they fought harder and scored through good tactical play - if a team wants to knock it around their own goalmouth it has to accept the consequences, no blame to Xhaka or Leno, it happens and Burnley deserved something today. We needed Ceballos from the start, so far Odegaard looks a bit out of his depth and played very safe.

It is high time for Arteta to be dismissed for his incompetence, his disastrous instructions asking his players to start from the back. Sorry, could you please explain what you mean by Arsenot? Not what? not won 13 League titles, against Spurs 2, yes thats 2! I know thats hard to believe as the way spurs deluded fans go on you'd think they'd won 40 league titles, or are you talking about the 14 FA Cups, the most of any club? I'm not even an Arsenal fan but am compelled to ask what planet spurs fans live on. Pathetic & very sad!

A typical Arsenal performance for this season - in complete control then outrageous self-destruction. Hugely frustrating. But you’ve got to admire Burnley - they work so hard and put their bodies on the line. The Premier League would be poorer without them.

Arsenal are the most vulnerable team in EPL. Why do they give away goals easily to their opponents? Because they push the ball in their own quarter as if kicking it will hurt it. Even from the mid field they pass the ball back to defenders and even error prone Leno. Why did Leno push the Ball to Xhaka who has made more errors than any other player in EPL in recent years?

Absolutely shocking decision not to give the first penalty shout for handball. Pieters' arm was intentionally out to make himself difficult to get past which bypasses the short distance rule.

The one VAR overturned was obviously not a penalty for the record.

Either way, with the mistake from Xhaka and Pepe's miss, we can only really blame the players for dropping points today.

It is unbelievable that Arsenal cannot even beat a team like Burnley! It is high time for Arteta to be dismissed for his incompetence, his disastrous instructions asking his players to start from the back. Another slip up by the goonies in their battle for a top half finish. Didn't Spurs put four past Burnley last week? Xaka what a clown and that Pepe looks a real cracker.

Thats 5 points dropped v Burnley now. You'd think Arteta would have seen enough of Xhaka now to know that he can't be trusted. As soon as this club rids themselves of these sloppy players that make big mistakes in games they will never progress.

Unfortunately Arteta does not learn from his mistakes. He should go to Barcelone together with Willian (who should have retired), Xhaka (who is a liability for the club).

So you are 10th, 4pts behind Spurs and a game played extra and the ref lost the game, even though Arsenal were poor again. Gotcha. :D
Ah yes, the famous "We Beat Burnley and Arsenal Didn't" Trophy

Another famous achievement for the Spuds trophy room. Can take pride of place next to the "We Put The Pressure On" trophy and "We Came Third In a 2 Horse Race" Cup.

Since when?

Do it for twenty years as well as being in CL for same amount of seasons. Throw in a few PL titles & trophies & you might have a point.

Yes spurs might be doing better at the moment but not by far & you are not lighting up the league or even needing to light up your trophy cabinet!!!

Arteta is no Pep, not got the experience, squad or finance.
Worst decision ever to appoint him.
As for the players.
Willian- total waste of space
Pepe- total waste of money
Xhaka- total liability, mistakes and cards.
Luiz- past it for a while.

Arsenal have the most expensive tickets? Why don't you look into that to see if its right rather than believing what you read in the tabloids or other trash media before spouting such nonsense! Once you've done so, you'll see that per game (in their tickets they inc cup games unlike any other club) their season tickets are cheaper than spurs and chelsea's. Please check it out! Then apologise.
