So HS2's main argument was that it provided capacity. How long do we have to persist with throwing good money after bad? Sunk cost fallacy
Sorry but it must go on as too many government cronies have their snouts in the troughs and looking after their mates is all the government cares about. Removed

Too many companies using covid as an excuse to offer a poorer service. Look at couriers, they pretty much just chuck your parcel at your door now, and use 'safety' as an excuse.
But at least these couriers are getting parcels to customers on time unlike the Royal Mail which is allowing parcels and letters to pile up at sorting offices...unless you pay for Special Delivery. Removed
Royal Fail are a disgrace. They bung a card through your door, even though you're in at the time, saying they couldn't deliver the parcel and can you collect it the following day. You catch the postie as he's sneaking out your gate and say just give me my parcel now and he blusters about not having it. They don't even try to deliver so they're turning the PO into a collection service. Removed
Absolute rubbish. Postie delivered me a parcel today that was ordered online on Tuesday and posted standard delivery yesterday. Royal Mail still cheapest, best and most accessible. Removed
NOT TRUE, I have no associated with Royal mail other than my business use both them and couriers to ship our orders both have had problems but we have better services from Royal mail and some couriers are just not taking books and all have pretty much give up on "guaranteed" delivery and they are NOT on time and parcel going missing via courier has increased massively. And if you want to be a communist, that's fine. Being large is okay. Are you a cute pig or just a piggy pig?

I like pigs, they are nice and friendly. Unlike your comments.

What?
Fewer trains 'eh?
With all the cancellations, strikes, lateness, how would we tell any difference?
At least they've had a chance to clean the carriages up and get rid of the smell of p*ss!!

Ukgov still busy trying to push public transport.
Bus timetables axed and limited after 6 pm (outside londonium).
South Coast to Stoke by train, single, return, off peak about £125. Not including 2 buses or taxis each end journey, times 2 for return. Time 4 hrs 30mins not Inc Stoke end taxi / bus.
Car time 3 hrs 30mins (no tolls), petrol £25 each way, £50 return.
4 in car £12.50 each return.
As you are travelling from Stoke, I assume you are driving a stolen car. For the rest of us we have to pay for more than petrol. Average cost of running a car in the UK is £2k, and that doesn't including paying for the car itself, which you don't need to worry about. Removed

Answer me this - everybody thinks rail fares are too expensive, yet in normal times everybody complains trains are overcrowded. Simple economics would tell you that if demand is exceeding supply, then the product is actually being sold at below its true value, so why wouldn't season ticket prices rise?
what utter clap trap
for most people they have no choice as how else would they get into london and find a place to park you fool.
The trains ARE overcrowded as despite all the promises by the train operators to use the increases to improve services all they end up doing is giving even more to shareholders and fat cat directors. and they get taxpayer subs too

THE REAL ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM IS THE TRAIN DRIVERS.

£50,000 - £70,000 For what?

They need to address the issue with over staffing and start cutting costs by sacking idle drivers.

This lot i am sure have had a great time during covid with all these empty trains. I wonder how many are on furlough?

Cut driver numbers NOW!

JOKE!!!
Have you driven a Train, if you have not , keep your stupid mouth shut. Removed

I ASK WHY DO WE NEED THIS GOV?

10 YEARS AND 30% HIGHER RAIL FARES.
