Absolutely - today is a great day. Feels like spring has sprung too.
Predictably inane story for HYS. They don't want you to comment on Begum or the SNP or Prince Harry because there is a BBC woke love-in going on with all three of those subjects Removed

Quite so.

I mean, "dozens" of trees...? Well whoop-di-do. I'm planting dozens of fruit trees myself these next couple of weeks, but I doubt this news will hit the BBC's front pages.

Those examples are also inane.
Why do we have a HYS on pretty trees. Why not on Joe Biden's very peaceful missile strikes to follow on from the very peaceful BLM riots he helped to incite last year? Removed
This will be gone! Don't you realise Doug, Sleepy Joe, CNN, BBC are the 'good guys'??? (Everyone else are 'Tories' 'Trump supporters') Removed

"However, according to conservation group WWF, the UK is one of the most "nature depleted countries in the world".

Of course it is!! - Every scrap of land is being concreted over, to accommodate millions more people!!
that's just the ones you know about, not even the jihadists arriving in landing craft at Dover Removed

I'd love to know who the half-dozen or so morons are that are down-voting all the positivity on here. Grow up. Removed

What do you mean, "grow up"? They might have perfectly legitimate reasons for downvoting, for all you know.
I love blossom trees.

What's the catch though? Knowing the National Trust these days only LGBTHNGF+÷/ people will be able to look at them and every tree will have an apology for slavery etched into it's branches.

National Trust plant 33 trees in London whilst recognising Great Britain by removing statues and rewriting history so it is 100% woke and the female boss of NT spends millions glorifying women in her "we are Bess" 'exhibition https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/hardwick/features/we-are-bess-exhibition Removed

Don't criticise the BBC'S woke buddies at the National Trust or they will remove your comment

More trees means less room for houses making it harder for immigrants to be housed. If you like trees then be prepared to be called a racist. Removed
Are we pretending the Supreme Court did just slap down the far left wing "charity" and BBC attempts to get terrorist Begum brought back to the uk then? ; ) Removed

Why can't we comment on the illegal bombing raid on Syria, sanctioned by Biden? Disgraceful... The West continues to have the blood of thousands, or rather millions, on its hands. Removed
Contentious stories about ... Britney. Biden. Begum ... and Beardy (Windsor).

And this is the only HYS today !!!

Tut. Tut. Auntie.

The BBC is supporting it's WOKE National Trust comrades in their attempt to divert criticism from their outrageous, anti-British 'colonial' report. Removed

The blossom on these trees will fill me with joy, not as much joy as seeing Joe Biden's very peaceful missile strikes in Syria to follow up on the very peaceful BLM riots and arson attacks he incited last year to destabilise the democratically elected incumbent president's position. Removed

May I please add that the EU will be planting 3bn trees in the next decade, its written in to law.

We have left the EU, so may now miss out
Unless we were going to start housing the illegal dinghy invaders in taxpayer funded tree houses, I don't know what we're going to do Removed
This shouldn't even be news let alone the only HYS thread so far today, it should already be a logical part of every day life.

Come on BBC open up some proper threads... let's have a chat about the Scottish clown show starring Salmond and Sturgeon...

My neighbour has a cherry tree that covers my garden and the public pavement with thousands of fallen petals every year a few days after the tree blossoms. They look a mess and make the pavement very slippery. Lets hope the National Trust has a plan for cleaning up the city centres after blossom time.

Very very nice indeed. Lovely idea and I am sure it will be something wonderful.

However it has to be said the National Trust needs to take a closer look at itself in general. Too many properties never opened at all last summer. They have hid behind the pandemic in my view and that needs to change.
My membership will not be renewed this year until I see change.
You don't have a membership mate, you never leave your room because you are on here 24/7. Removed
For the wokerati.....please be assured that the National Trust won't be planting any 'white' blossom trees. Removed
Thought white blossom was racist?
Everything else in the British countryside is. Apparently.

The London Far Left Luvvies are very quick to label anyone racists, but are totally blind to irony, e.g.

the irony of professing to be green, but driving around in their big socialist Range Rovers,
and the irony of calling others racist, when they drove out almost an entire ethnic group.

Hypocrites.

"With all the NTs controversies over slavery"

Reporting historical facts is not controversial. It certainly does trigger the racists though.

Councils will cut them down as soon as they can be claimed as affecting the foundations of any building or pavement.

Quite why the National Trust is doing the task that should be local council's is beyond me. Presumably it is council owned space?
