Let me put it another way. You read the news, right? So you must have some awareness of what's going on with UK fishing right now. Do you think businesses are collapsing 'cos they have oodles of money, being greedy & all?

Likely that prices rose in the past, due to depleted fish stocks, UK selling quotas, thus smaller catches for broadly same, relatively high cost base.

"Nowadays fishermen do go out to catch specific species, using high tech sonar. "

Specific Species with Sonar?

Don't believe it - but nice fantasy.

#Anyold etc..Yes,some fishermen do go out to catch specific species of fish, but they're generally shoal fish, mackerel, pilchards etc,but bottom trawling is aimed at everything on the seabed, and what's on the seabed is quite varied.
In one 4 hour trawl you can catch a dozen or more different species, some is saleable, some isn't and gets thrown back.
You can't choose what to catch.
you get worse as your made up claptrap goes on, not all fishermen are trawling the bottom, in fact most are NOT.

eg you wont catch any COD or HADDOCK dredging the bottom YOU DIMWIT!!!
