Rory McIlroy missed the cut last week for the first time in 30 PGA Tour events but while underlying statistics suggest a deterioration in form, here's why the Florida-swing offers cause for optimism.

RM was the most consistent player before lockdown, maybe when the crowds come back he will to, something as simple as that, other players have flourished and climbed up the world rankings, RM thrives on pressure and crowds bring that, personally I think he should stop playing until the crowds come back and spend some good time with his family, but his competitive side probably won't let him.
The BBC should concentrate more on Victoria Hogland.
The only thing I find shocking about these articles about MAClLroy and Woodsy in the build up to the Majors, is that when they fail by Friday evening, this golf department completely loses interest in the tournament, no matter how big it is, and then it repeats prior to the next one etc etc
Very very laborious.
MAC and Woodsy don't have a hope in winning another tournament again.
Busted Flushes.

Rory is a very talented player who, at one stage, did think he was going to dominate like Tiger Woods (in all fairness it did look possible owing to how he burst on the world scene about a decade ago). I think he has realised for some time that this is not going to happen for him or any current player, the standard is that high. Wears his heart on his sleeve though, so always a good interview.
A supreme talent but he's a spoilt brat who always got his own way when growing up. The child prodigy status that befell him has flawed his character, that's not his fault by any means by it makes him like marmite to too many people.

I’m happy don’t you worry about that, I’m still allowed to call out a spoilt brat when I see one though??
Save your money & back Rahm or Keopka, at least they will make the cut and you will have something to look forward to Saturday and Sunday.
Their is no cut?? You mean “there is no cut “
McIlroy's problem is his ego. The bloke 'reeks of self importance'.
He'll go all the way to the Challenge Tour with any luck.
Who cares? Overrated and overpaid. Long may his poor form continue.
haha x
It's no coincidence that Rory's period of domination came after the high profile split from his former fiance. He buried himself in golf to get over it.
Then the cracks started to appear, he sacked his long term manager deciding to manage himself, changed his clubs, started hosting tournaments and missing other tournaments to hang out with his mates.
He has simply fallen out of love with Golf.

He's hardly on life support is he? Talk about an OTT reaction. In terms of day to day normal life he should recover fine.
We've seen the last of him as a professional golfer, though that's probably not a bad thing.
Thankfully nobody else was involved.
