Never should have closed in the first place.
Open everything today.
I guarantee they all retail and recreational facilities would be full. Just shows how scared the real majority are. ( I will bet not in the slightest)
As a bonus, if you want to stay at home "scared" your more than welcome. The rest just want a 100% return to freedom.

The only good pub is a closed pub!
Disgusting places frequented by readers of the Sun or similar comics, fat, sweaty, unshaven people of compromised IQ’s, buying, selling knocked off gear.
Smoking roll ups 6 inches outside the door, throwing the remains over the pavement, pouring as much booze down their necks as they can then fighting in the streets. Classy Brits!
The police dread reopening.

Unfortunately when restrictions are lifted a lot of decent pubs and restaurants will be gone, I would never step inside a Wetherspoons, usually full of benefit claimers supping there half pints in the corner, cheap and nasty microwave or fryer food, and a self interested Chairman who thought brexit was a good idea.

It's tiresome. Boris let up the first lockdown under pressure from these and similar people. We then got a nasty second wave, and lockdown2. If we had stayed in lockdown1 a little longer, it is (remotely) possible lockdown2 would not have happened, and pubs could still be open.
In the face of history, the same pressure is being applied again. Are these people insane or just thick and greedy?

someone obviously didn't agree with the original comment, but it's very true. If people stuck to the rules, and didn't 'bend' them, then we wouldn't be in this lockdown, but selfish people who think 'well I know these people from different households so I won't catch covid' are insane or thick. It's the people that cause the issue, not the government

Opening the pubs last summer was a disaster which cost us, as a country, very dear in terms of lives and treasure. The very notion that a bunch of Stella-quaffing oiks in Weatherspoons are going to socially distance etc. is absurd, and so it proved.

I feel sorry for the workers and contractors, but we cannot afford a FOURTH spike. Looks like the UK has finally got its act together at last.

With the UK well on its way to becoming a multi cultural country that has fewer indigenous citizens, there is no need to have as many pubs as these places are generally not frequented by the new inhabitants who primarily need social housing, schooling for their children, and health services for elderly relatives who are either here or waiting to come to the UK. I suspect a hidden agenda not connected with pubs here, Cururucho. This is not a thead about immigration, though TM has encouraged immigration from outside the EU by supporting Brexit, the very different culutres you cite, as with the UK no longer a member of the EU, those that are still members will pass their migrants on to us to save the expense of repatriating them and making us pay.

The UK has been multi-cultural for centuries, what with waves of immigration by Angles, Saxons, Danes and Normans to give just a few examples. Maybe ‘multi-cultural’ has a different meaning in your mind? I’d be interested to hear your explanation.
