Ashwin century makes England toil
15/02/2021 | sport | cricket | 1,903
A century from local hero Ravichandran Ashwin heaps misery on England in the second Test against India in Chennai.
India robbed of Roots wicket, I’m going to spend all day moaning about it and make long list of people to complain to like a big girls blouse!

On a serious note, great day for India, who thought we’d get a 4th day (I did), a number 8 scoring a test century on a supposedly unplayable pitch and Rory Burns not getting a duck!

Jonathan Agnew, go lie down and please never get back up!

“Jonathan Agnew, go lie down and please never get back up”? Maybe you’re not great with words but that doesn’t read very well in terms of its tone

He might have talked some rubbish today but to say that about a broadcaster of Aggers' quality is outrageous. Disagree with his opinion all you like but that comment is very poor.

Imagine losing after getting an extra 'batsman' - ouch :) :)
The moaning English fans have been proved to be pathetic whingers.

Ashwin scores almost entire England's total on a 3rd day track on the SAME wicket, not the one to the Left or Right.

What's proven is that England can't bat against spin, their fans are pathetic moaners, their pundits make poor excuses of incredulous proportions.

This is a great test track, add India's 2 innings scores.

Calm down Camford ... enjoy the win when you get it. What’s the point at having a go at England fans ... this isn’t a football forum, and no need to try to wind people up. India 100% controlled this game, pretty much as England did in the 1st. Let’s hope for a more evenly balanced battle in the 3rd.

England can't bat against Spin despite coming into this off 6 consecutive wins in Asia, back to back whitewashes of Sri Lanka, and being 1-0 up in the series.

India have outplayed England, but claiming England can't play spin is nonsense.

You didn't play the game, & don't watch much? Your "great Test track" is absurd, ANY Test wicket where spinners are on after just a few overs in the FIRST innings, that's beyond suspicious! The poorly repaired footmarks are also a clue, (the one where the ball that bowled Virat came from). Yes, India bat against spin, & bowl it, rather better, as we'd expect, but deserve censure re the pitch.

India's score became irrelevant yesterday. All England needed to do was keep India at the crease for an hour or so until the end of play on day 3, at which point India would declare, leaving England the not inconsiderable challenge of batting through the final 2 days.
But England are so thick, they couldn't even keep Ashwin IN.
Ashwin was HAPPY to get out and put England in for the last half hour!

Not to worry though, most of that IT support comes from India, they can manage
no complaints about the pitch. Typical in this part of the world as is a green top in UK. Just deal with it. Kohli reminds me of Connor Mcgregor the way he struts around like a knob. great player but so so arrogant. Removed

You're precisely the reason that people do not like your side. You were not gloating after the first test, so why don't you 'bore-off' and go back to your crappy T-20 dross?
And you are the reason the shire folk are so roundly despised. Removed

I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and say you're genuine.

Though I thought if you were over 18 you had to give a UK postcode to post here, so assume you are UK based?

Anyway, even as England fan, my parents were Irish. So "The Raj" is nothing to do with me. Actually the Indian flag colours are taken straight from the Irish flag!

nothing to fine them for, if england dont want to tour...then dont tour.
Previously, India would get the fag end of the season n 2 lousy tests. Now, England chase India like a dirty old uncle chasing a young beauty, begging for a game.

Stop touring India if you can't handle it. India doesnt need test cricket

The amount of bullying and racketeering the ECB had excercised over cricket, India are nowhere near that type of power abuse

Poms, stop your moaning

I'm glad India put up a decent score in their second innings, significantly better than England's first innings. That means England can't really blame the state of the wicket, much as I would like to. England simply not good enough in these conditions.
