Happy to see Jordan playing well again! Been a rough couple of years for him but it’s great to see him back on top of his game like when he first burst on to the PGA. Proper gent too, hopefully he can close this one out.
Well said Geooo ... he's a nice bloke too and never courted any contraversy ... also his commentary of his own shots is superb lol :-)))
Like him or not, Jordan Spieth adds colour (sorry, color) to the game. Plays it with a good sense of humour (sorry humor) and his behaviour (who put American spellings in my computer?) is always immaculate.
Like when he made his partner wait 20 mins in the open while he fannied around over a drop
Again? Sorry to hear that. Maybe get a decent set of walking boots
Copy, paste and repeat. It’s the company you keep, try walking with friends instead of on your own.
... and your point regards Spieth and the Pebble Bech tournament is ... oh, you don't have one ... go talk to someone who gives a fig ...
Very odd, a sporting event in America in which other countries take part!

Nothing to do, I know I’ll go on to BBC Golf to I sport I hate and make a embarrassing comment.! That’s is generally Sad and I feel for you. Do you need to talk?
Although it is good to see Spieth striking the ball so well , the pace of play is appalling and Berger,in particular needs to be warned and penalised. Why is it necessary for three players to take more than 5 hours especially when there are few spectators and few places that need time to find a ball. Slow play is destroying professional golf for viewers.
Pace of play in pro and am arena is at times found wanting and frustrating. Hard to imagine or understand what benefit any player gets from multi practice swings, freezing over the ball and their inability to mark time when searching for a ball is astoundingly poor.
Have never been a fan of Speith's. He is far too slow and I can never forget him taking about an hour to finally find a spot to drop his ball in the Open Championship.
When he finally played the shot it was from the practice ground which was out of bounds , and Matt Kuchar had to sit and wait while all that was going on
I like him doing well as he's not a massive hitter and has a great all round game but he does himself no favours playing slowly. It's selfish when you consider the effect it has on other players
Clearly it wasn't out of bounds. The rules officials might have noticed that.

I don’t mind a few practice swings, but spieth is capable of standing there having a five minute chat about which club to hit, change his mind a few times before he even starts the practice swings. The practice swings are the least of his problems
If Spieth wins, the whole of the American golfing
world will have their "American Hero" back for a while.
Syrup will be slapped on, out comes the family love in,
All round Mummy's Boy. Oh how they've missed that since you know who went astray.

This is not a Spurs HYS.
Where is Rory - you would have thought that $7,800,000 would have got him out of bed?
Only 5 of the world's top 50 are playing and none of the top 10 are there at all. Seems strange, something to do with scheduling apparently....its a shame as it does devalue the tournament somewhat at an iconic venue.

I like him as well. Yes he may be slow but that doesn't make him less of a gentleman, there are rules, he doesn't break them. If they change the rules fair enough, but if they don't, why shouldn't he play at a pace that suits HIM, rather than the people complaining on here?I know in all sports it's the fans that bring the money, but that shouldn't mean they can dictate to these superb sportspeople.

It’s odd that a golfer can appear, and even be, unbeatable for a few years, and then be unable to win a thing. It’s very easy to try to tinker or tweak your game, which is rarely successful.

Early days in this hys, but let’s go through the checklist:
- “a good walk ruined”: check
- someone spelling spieth’s name wrong: check
- someone slagging Rory, even though he’s not playing: check
- someone slagging BBC for not showing golf: not yet
- arfur suggesting including a few girls to brighten things up: not yet.
Nearly there lads!

The biggest surprise, Jimmy, is that Maksi has been championing for a HYS when play is still in progress - yet he’s come on and offered nothing.
I will try and help you out. Is Victoria Hogland not playing?

Not the most thrilling leaderboard this week but we have Casey, Scotland have a fella called Knox and the Irish have that man Seamus Power who did not make the cut but we are all friends here so let's not worry about that.
Sweden have Henrik Norlander so let's enjoy a good round of golf. I will be amazed if Spieth wins this to be honest.

Fantastic. I look forward to chatting to you about that, but just have in the back of your mind that I am a big fan of Jordan Spieth.
He capitulated last week on sunday though? and he probably won't be making eagle from the fairway today too, but you never know.
Casey for me, but he ain't great on Sundays either. Should be a good final round featuring guys that will give us a half decent champ.

1 player in the top 30 is over par today. Have a guess who that is?
When the Norwegian golf oracle speaks you should pin your ears back and listen.

No need to come back to me mate. I sat and watched it all and it pretty much went as I expected.
Spieth has done well over the past couple of weeks but there will always be a handful of players who will beat him.
He held off Casey though so all is not bad for young man from Texas.

Go JS! He is class unlike the bottler borey!
Spieth is only one of a handful of pro golfers worth getting out of bed to watch these days sadly. The others being Woods, McIlroy, Mickelson, Garcia and Luke Donald. Everyone else is either a 'robo-pro' or a 'slash it and pitch it' merchant. Hope Jordan gets over the line tonight!

I didn’t know that, Jimmy. ??
Golf has been ruined as a spectator sport by slow players like Speith. At least the has-been McIlroy tries to get a wiggle on. No wonder the useless BBC can't even be bothered with showing golf. The whole sport needs shaking up by having more mixed events or awarding birdies to any group that can catch and overtake the one in front.

Unfortunately not, but I thought I would try to squeeze your entire checklist into one post. Not easy to cram so much rubbish into less than 400 characters. Actually nice to see Spieth at the top end of a leader board again on a decent golf course.
Paul Casey and Tom Lewis making fast starts.
Max Homa also battling up there on the leaderboard, whoever he is.
Cantlay shoots 62 on Thursday and then shoots in the 70s twice which makes him dangerous today. Playing 2 average rounds usually gives you no chance of winning these things but 62 gave him a bit of leeway.
Spieth is obviously the big draw in this comp this week so let's enjoy golf.

Too close to call Jimmy. Spieth got his birdie to go level and Cantlay and Casey made bogey at about the same time.
It's not the same as when the big boys are battling it out but this is going to be hard for any of these boys to win.
hehe Freezing here too and I have not hit a ball for over a week, which is unbelieveable for me. My last swing left me lying on ice as I slipped and went home :)

That’s not what I have ever said, just asked you to explain your ideas which you never do. So I’m left with these ideas of speed mixed golf, some closer of cross between It’s A Knockout and a Barry Hearn darts night out.
Let’s hear your creative suggestions, but please give some detail instead of “add women to make it more interesting”.

so much for the experts on here on previous hys, when it was dared to be suggested thats sports spreads covid
Oh its so safe they said and was told to shut up
Now harrington riddled with it, wander how many more Removed

As I’ve said before, a tiny number of professional golfers getting covid is not the problem. Idiots having parties are a much bigger issue.
Shutting down outdoor professional sports, as you keep suggesting, is unnecessary. Now crack open a beer, put your feet up and enjoy the back 9.

Harrington “riddled with it”? Where do you get your information from?
Harrington says he is fine, has some mild flu symptoms, has a few days self isolation to go (in the Lodge at pebble beach), and is competing again next week.
Covid is a serious business, but hyperbole like yours does not help.

Jordan Spieth bogeys the par five 14th and that will be curtains for him.
2 rounds in the 70s over the weekend wouldn't win you a club championship at my local course in Stavanger Norway, let alone a PGA Tour event. His wait continues whilst the excellent Daniel Berger leads with 4 holes to go. He has company all over him though so this one is going to the wire, without Spieth.
