Liverpool title defence is over - Klopp

Liverpool's title defence is over, says manager Jurgen Klopp after his side's late capitulation at Leicester.

I don’t know who your pal is, but I’m a life long Liverpool fan and I can say we haven’t been good enough. But I can also say we have had a tough season for injuries to central defenders, that has meant we have played midfielders in those positions for most of the season, not ideal.
Mistakes have been made with not replacing them or strengthening the defence, but that’s not anyone else’s fault. ??

His mum died at the end of January. That would eat away at anyone. That plus today was the 17th different central defence partnership this season. Of course, then there's the intensity played for three seasons and we don't have a second first team like the likes of City do. When our subs come on for the starting 11, it's like we go down a notch. We'll be back better next season.

Can we please stop going on about injuries being the reason, luck is part of football, two seasons of relatively good fortune with injuries and Klopp is a genius, a couple of serious ones and out come the violins. Klopp sold half his back up centre halfs and did not replace them, few signings over two years is poor squad management, Klopp has to plan better, the back up options are poor.

All the children salivating because Liverpool lost. More of an event for them than when their teams win. Pathetic.

Liverpool were due a slip. For the past 2 seasons our consistency has been unparalleled. Runners up losing 1 game all season with 97 points. A higher tally the following season along with the title. Post March 2020 we haven't looked the same. No crowds & injuries are both obvious.

Liverpool have a lot of things to sort out. City will clearly win the league by some distance, but nobody will really care that much, because nobody really cares about them. They are just a bit ‘meh’, whatever. Sad really, because they are a good football team, but will be forever tarnished due to obvious allegations about the reasons for their success over the past few years. Removed

LP fan. Klopp is not a tactician, does not know how to break when behind or defend when ahead. Same tactics of open game with no D. After securing the league, we lost to A. Madrid, Watford, and City, tied with Burney, struggled with Leeds when Virgil, Gomez, Lovren, and Matip were playing. Next season, Salah and Mane will leave and we are qualifying for EL. Fire him before it is too late.
This Liverpool team without Van Dijk is too nice, too soft, after what Everton did in November it should be a fight rather than a football match next weekend, since they ruined our season let’s ruin theirs. Removed

You sound as though your talking more about man u and city.
Would have liked to have given my opinion on this board but there are too many Liverpool haters on here to get a decent blog going and I don't particularly like Liverpool but the rubbish on here comes from Trump like supporters Removed

If Liverpool win the league it’s because they are the best team in all sporting history but if they don’t it’s because of oil.

Everyone know dat dowen dey dough?
Liverpool had plenty of oil slathered all over their tinpot dump last weekend. Did you miss it ? Removed

Im not a Liverpool supporter but its ignorant for all the MU supporters on here having a go, well when was the last time you won the PL? Mu's PL title were achieved with Billions spent and with the aid of Hwebb &Co and the then CEO of the PL. Oh & lets not foret Paul "I cant tackle" scholes so he and the MU players can kick everything that moves for the first 20 mins without any repercussions!!! Removed

While we’re talking ignorance, Ferguson’s total spend was a little under £550M in over 26 years; that’s gross of course and doesn’t take account of transfer fees received of around £350M over the same period. So your assertion of billions spent is a bit wide of the mark.
Another masacre in Europe coming up soon involving Liverpool ?????????? Removed
If anyone wants an example of inconsistant refereeing have a look at that goal West Brom just scored, the attacker is clearly fouling Lindeloff as he heads it in, how is that allowed to stand yet Harry Maguire's against Burnley and Martials against SU were ruled out. Removed

VAR in the PL is a complete joke now. We have more controversial or let me put it biased refereeing decisions than before. Leicester have THREE players in an offside position and the goal stands. Had Liverpool scored that goal it would have taken a second to chalk it off.

This is a barmpot season and life during the tory pandemic crisis has been tough for everyone and just a bit tougher for foreign players who must have loved ones back home they worry about.
For example Klopp's mother has been ill and passed away and he cannot even attend the funeral .
Footballers are also human beings and I can fully understand if football seems insignificant it is to me.
You also seem to find punctuation insignificant to you.

It probably is.

But, if you want others to be able to read what you've posted, it helps.
