Wales edge out 14-man Scotland in a mesmeric thriller at Murrayfield to maintain their 100% start to their Six Nations campaign.

Thought Wales were the best side throughout despite the red card. Missed 3 kicks also. Score flattered Scotland who have false hopes. Russell is a liability. Rees Zammit seems Avery humble guy, class. 3m population, all the injuries, incredible. Grand Slam is ON

As a Scotland supporter I can't help but think they changed game plan at about 35 mins. But I remain dumbfounded by the red. It just seems arbitrary, particularly when halfpenny wraps and stops Graham in the air for a pen. I bet i could find 15+ similar incidents in every match. And very often red cards decide the game (you won't be surprised i feel it probably did here). Feel v frustrated

Halfpenny had no option with that tackle. The bounce of the ball was wicked leaving him with no time to move out of the way or even compete for the ball. Maybe learn the rules next time

Two completely different incidents. One reacting to the bounce of the ball - no option as player on him before he has time to adjust. Clear penalty but no more as there is mitigation.

Fagerson fixes Wyn Jones from 8-10 yards, charges in, leading with the shoulder and makes contact with Jones' head. Red card end of.

I've replied to this elsewhere.

POM's red did should have alerted those 'bombing' at the ruck.

No arm and led head down.

It's a red.

Not malicious but a red.

Scots only have themselves to blame. It's points that win games not any amount of stats.

Agree, hate to see a red though. Despite everything, Scotland almost nudged it but for the tap tackle during the last play of the game, that to me was a certain try. Such a shame we weren’t able to fill the stadium to watch such an entertaining game of rugby, also see a glimpse of a special wing, and do both teams justice and drink with the Scots afterwards to celebrate a feast of rugby.

Cracker of a match and Wales just scraped home. They have an outstanding talent in Zammit who scored two tries and made one. His second try was simply sublime. His pace and agility is staggering and if the Lions tour goes ahead he will be in the squad Scotland had their chances but poor discipline cost them The red card was harsh but Fagerson had his shoulder raised. Both Sheedy and Hardy need to play together. Davies's and Biggar's first thought is kick and it stopped us from playing anything. First try was created by Tompkins pass and Biggar gave him nothing to work with but he created it. The rest of the game he kicked it away! Sheedy and Hardy to start with Lloyd Williams and Jarrod Evan's on the bench

Didn't see it initially but on replay & by the laws of the game it was a red card. Fagerson certainly not as culpable as O 'Mahony last week, but that is the law. Hope the tribunal take that into account. The game is trying to protect players from serious injury. Such punishments will reduce the outcome of players living with brain damage, far more important than a game, no matter how we love it!

Had to be a red. The 'mitigating circumstances' suggested by the TMO were not applicable as his head moved upwards and the contact was with his lower head. Had Hogg not lifted him slightly the contact would have been square on the crown of his head.

This type of collision needs to be removed from rugby and there needs to be a disincentive.

Also Welsh. Tucked his arm in on a late run. All he had to do is open his shoulders and lift his arm and it wouldn't have been a red. ZF is a headache Old Al as he does regularly lose his footing and give away penalties. Why persevere with him, because when he keeps on his feet he’s a superb prop. I wouldn’t argue he’s a liability too often, but given his age there’s plenty time for coaches to get his set-up and thinking right; a wee spell down in Scarlets might be what’s needed ??

Scotland were the better team with 14 players when they got organised. The ref unfortunately didn’t seem to have any idea with the front rows. Sending off harsh could he have used common sense as there were at least another 3 instances of similar ilk. Even the tmo gave him a possible way out, over enthusiastic at worst. Rees Lightening - red hot offensively, quite weak defensively, but that will improve with coaching and experience.
By the letter of the law, a no arms contact direct to the head IS a red card. It would not have merited a second look in my playing days 30 years and more ago, but then again, so many of the laws of rugby have changed since the 80s. I mostly don't know why the refs whistle so often.

Lucky Wales. Gutted. Hope France smash Wales and go onto win it now. Anyone but Wales.

Yep... scoring more points does seem to be a significant factor in the game... or would you prefer judges marking performance like in Ice Skating???... :)

Fantastic rugby by both sides.

Unlucky Scotland but Wales just squeezing it out. Bit like me 30 seconds after I post this.
