England find flashes of attacking flair to bounce back from last week's Scotland defeat and claim a 41-18 Six Nations victory against Italy.

Right, after last week's abysmal performance the positives first.

- Watson and May, world class wingers.
- Hill, proved his worth today.
- Earlier use of subs giving them a good run out and showing why Robson should get a start.

And negatives.

- Too many penalties.
- Too many handling errors.
- Defence not good enough especially Daly.

Also, all the best to Jack Willis.

Absolutely agree, wishing Willis a speedy recovery, he is a quality player. England will be glad of a confidence boosting win. Not sure why Italy decided to loosely kick away possession to a back three of Daly, Watson & May, but I am not their coach. Italy played some good rugby but England had far too much power. Watson was excellent and is a shoe-in for the Lions. May's finish was outstanding.
Who on Earth down votes a simple comment wishing a player to get well from a potenially career ending injury? Scum. I don't care what team a player is playing for, if I see them hurt like that I wish them well. Removed

Garbisi good; England garbagey. We put a decent amount of points on & there were bright spots; Watson particularly. But even with all the experience on the pitch, we still seem stale, disjointed & ill-disciplined.

Credit to Italy. Whilst it looks like another 6N of 5 losses, there do at least seem to be some green shoots. Finally, let's hope Willis' injury isn't as bad as it seems it might be.

Since when did rugby players feign imaginary injuries ? He’s pathetic, even he knows the tackle was wrong and should rightly have been a yellow. Somebody also should have told the ref was the guy in the orange top.

Don’t think it was the tmo’s fault. She brought it to the refs attention and he decided (wrongly imho) that it wasn’t foul play.
I think a yellow would have been harsh (but I’ve seen them given for less) but it was at the very least a pen for a late “tackle”.

Don’t think the ref had a great game & eng got the benefit of most of the 50/59 decisions.

Easy win in reality, and very good in parts. Still gave 2 poor tries away and too many mistakes, but top of the table, so could be worse.

Positive intent the way forwards, can’t stand the arm wrestle game plan.

Getting rather tired with the behaviour of forwards at the scrum - takes an eternity to set and then handbags straight afterwards which wastes more time. At the stage now where there needs to be now hard engage from a gap, need to be bound and set before the ball goes in.

It was better, but it could hardly be worse after all it was Italy.Sinckler showed Genge what he has to do, but also his carrying passing and pace give us a great ball carrier. Robson when he came on was better than Youngs. Farrell seems to be glued in and was OK. Daly good in the loose but a fullback has to tackle he ain't much of a tackler. But passing was woeful at times very poor from pros.

Both of them turned up today, what a game. The May try was exceptional. Got to feel for the lad Willis, from the ultimate high to the depths of despair, damn shame. As to the suggestion of changing the laws to avoid a similar injury, give it a rest. No ref can foresee a committed tackler eventually causing a similar injury. It’s just one of those sickening, unfortunate things.

Well, ALL players are coached "if you are on the ground, then you are out of the game"! You can only play the game, if you are on your feet! At the ruck/maul, you cannot play an opposition player if you are lying on the ground, just as it is illegal to tackle an opponent, if you are lying on the ground; an effective tackle is made ONLY when a player is on their feet!

Think the scoreline flattered England, certainly had the rub of the green from the officials.

Slightly better performance from England, but Italy were naive at times and gifted england a few tries.

England have a long way to go having played the 2 weakest teams.

Not good enough still to give confidence England will be anywhere well enough to beat the likes of France Ireland or even Wales...

The anti English comments from bitter Celts are a delight. So much inferiority complex

I’ve seen better referees in school boy Rugby. How is he international level? England need to replace Billy and Youngs, it’s obvious to everyone but Eddie.
