Guardiola surprised by Man City winning run
21/02/2021 | sport | football | 1,701
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola says he is surprised by his side's imperious form "when everyone is suffering in this world" as they make it 18 wins in a row with victory at Arsenal.

Disgusting play acting from Tierney going down holding his head when Cancelo brushed his side, trying to deceive the ref, really wish VAR could tell the ref to look at these kind of things, yellow card for attempting to deceive the ref and maybe a fine, that should stop it. Should be ashamed of himself, glad Arsenal lost for that reason.

Surprised by this, he seems like a hard-working player. I hope he’s ashamed of himself and won’t do it again, but tbh I doubt it - what is there to discourage him? Next time, a dodgy camera angle and a poorly positioned ref might be enough to see his opponent get a red card.

Totally agreed that the solution is immediate bookings for simulation. The game is crying out for it.

The flying start City had should have taken the game away from Arsenal.

The longer it stayed 1 - 0 and Arsenal had every chance of equalising. Arsenal were getting a hold after the initial City flury. Feared City were going pay the price.

Inside 7 minutes it could have been Arsenal 0 - 3 Sterling.

P.S; didn't expect easy 3 points at the Emirates anyway.

Arsenal just lacking the quality in the final third, defensively played reasonably well over the 90. I think Arsenal are the better team over Chelsea and Spurs, at least Arteta hasn't lost the dressing room like Thomas Tickle and Maureen.

Keep it tight for at least the first 10 minutes and get into your stride. Rob Holding is just a spectator. He watched the ball come over with no attempt to meet it, not for the first time. We literally have no proper defenders, but we could at least drill the shambles we have now to give us a fighting chance.

Pep inherited a City side averaging 2nd place over previous five seasons and won the league twice. He’s spent £600m + player sales.

Klopp inherited a team averaging 6th (so a much worse squad than pep inherited). He’s spent £100m + player sales.

No wonder it’s so hard to compete with Man City !!!

Limp, lacklustre performance from my team apart from Tierney and Saka. But did not expect much apart from the predictable side to side passing.
On present form, there was a better chance of Lord Lucan, Shergar and Elvis sharing a house in Bognor Regis than Arsenal getting anything from this game.

Arsenal looked happy to lose and keep the score down.
The title win once again go to a cash rich club. Zzzz the EPL. Money wins.

How do you think teams won the league previously? Because they had money. The only difference now is that the former big clubs don’t like it.

Love how the formerly top clubs who made millions selling crap around the world complain. Worst are United who dominated the League for years because they were able to buy the best players. Now they complain about how much money City have to spend. Perfectly happy to have a salary and transfer fund cap in place so every Premier League starts on equal basis but strangely they don't want that.

We’re picking up 3 points even when we don’t play at our fluent best! Always a tough place to win the emirates. Fair play to the Arsenal. 59 points now and 10 clear. The title should be returning to the Etihad soon with any luck. C’mon City! ??

Miraculous what Cancelo has done this season, fair play to the guy. Average first year but has reinvented Himself. is another, I think he’s just adapted better to what it is we need from a defensive midfielder, fantastic last few months.

Gundogon is so brave and more. Bernardo is back to his best. Stones and Dias are an excellent. Zinchenko is more than enough Mahrez hitting top form.

Nope, didn’t see either of them dive at all during this game. We had this yesterday when people were quite rightly criticising Salah and Mane for outrageous diving. You get this predictable “what about Sterling?!?!?” response - it’s just a disingenuous way to deflect from the issue.

Next season is going to be a cracker when Liverpool get their full squad fit again and fans are allowed back in the stadia. The only team really capable of keeping up with the oil state funded team from Manchester. £0.4 billion on defenders and defensive midfielders is really paying dividends.

Odegaard not good enough am afraid, too light weight, gave tbe ball away too many times, could have had shots on target but choose to pass the ball instead a few times in his last few games. Very disappointing. ESR would have had a much more greater impact if he had started. Martinelli can be his backup.

Liverpool have five £40m+ players.
