We didn't deserve to win last week, unless we sort out our lineout we won't win this week.
But our line out should be far better, we have proved, fresh 12 nd 13 ,s, and the best 2 followers on the tournament. History shows, e.g. 2019, that Wales always play poorly first game up and thereafter storm through. I believe they will triumph in a close match.
Unbelievably tho last week with the lineout why ddnt we go for a 7 man every time as Ireland would of had to put a back in for it, which would of stretched their defence! instead of going for the 5 man which we did most of the time
very true - if you can't control your own line out, don't expect to win games at test level. Similarly, a solid line out really sets out a strong platform and makes the team respond in kind.
I don’t think Ireland deserved to win either. You can’t give away so many penalties and expect to win
Who is "we"?
Duhan Van Der Merwe Vs Reez-Zammit is an amazing clash on the wing
Duhans power and pace vs Zammits outrageous pace
Duhans power and pace vs Zammits outrageous pace
Welsh lineout been poor for 2 years. Yet they persist with AWJ........
Scotland’s game to lose. Would be a great win for Wales in Edinburgh with this side however.
Absolutely not Scotland's game to lose. I'm a Scotland fan, and I know from many years of bitter experience that sustaining a level of performance to win games on the trot in the 6 Nations is really hard to do (and rare). Each game needs to be won; Wales aren't just going to give it to us. Navidi and Ritchie both big losses. Hamish vs Tipuric will be a great battle. Good luck to both sides.
Why did it take the BBC 7 minutes to get this announcement and still no news of the full team after 9 minutes?
Far too much bias towards the English at the expense of other regions of the UNITED KINGDOM !!

How many seconds?
You might live in a region dude, I live in a country. Show some ambition.
Bench is a bit thin.

inferiority complex kicking in again, ED!?
What did Navidi do wrong?
Wonder if he watched Ireland game, POM red card. Oh hang on, that's EXACTLY why Williams missed playing in it. Same offence.
POM is a dirty player, so is Williams. He spends half a match looking for a fight, the other half making illegal clear outs.

The Williams incident was a complete accident, agreed by all 4 officiaks, and of course they were right. You are just marked you lost, butty.
Your correct in what you say about both red card offences and I must admit liam was a bit of a loose cannon against the blues, hopefully tho the Welsh coaching set up will have been in his ear and try to get his discipline in order! Good to see him back tho, unfortunate about the other players that are injured tho!
Selecting a 30 year old kiwi is a joke, compounded by the fact he’s not even the best centre at the Blues.....
Of course.
They should have picked North.
Or Fox.
Or Johnny Williams.
Or maybe Lee-lo.
Just doesn't make sense.
Good luck, Willis.
Grab the chance if you get on.

Welsh by birth or parentage. Residency is a joke.
I feel the loss of Navidi is more critical than teh loss of other players. North a huge loss too. Scotland should win this one... but we all thought that about Ireland last week... ;-)
Shame that North and Navidi are not fit to play - always been impressed by the Wainwright plays though...think it will be an abrasive battle at the breakdown with two good back rows. Too close to call IMHO but hope for a Scottish win. Will miss the good natured singing down the Grassmarket with our Celtic cousins. Good luck and lets hope its a cracker.
Six players lost after just one match., means that Scotland, who have had an extra day to rest and prepare, are from favourites. But I feel Welsh flair will triumph at the end of the day.
Agreed. Wales v Scotland is probably my favourite 6N fixture. Great craic, great history, great matches.
Pity we’ve had to swap both centres. - was looking forward to seeing Williams and especially North go again.
Scotland favourites to win but hope it will be a better performance from Wales and let’s see what happens.

You're right; the Welsh in Edinburgh was always a great weekend. See you al in 2023 I hope.
agreed north navidi 2 massive blows, also agree wainwright is class. Frances fit is important, wales should have had cory hill involved too. scots been on a roll for a while, this is a 50/50 game anything could happen imo.
We need to sort the line outs out. Navidi must be injured???
Scotland 49 - 10 Wales
The Welsh are no match for the Scots
The Welsh are no match for the Scots
Is this a prediction for the netball game coming up? Ha ha ha
Tell that to the Scots, who faced the Welsh longbow men, in Longshanks army.
Ouch.... that looks like a 3rd XV!
Could be a tough day for the men in red.
Scotland by around 10 points.
The weakest Welsh team I have seen in 20 years.
Scotland are a bit stronger these days as well, having been awful for over a generation.
A very weak wales v good Scotland, should still be close, so I have some optimism!

That’s a bit disrespectful to Scotland.
A very weak wales v a good Scotland should be close! Ridiculous statement! Truly hope Scotland stuff wales on Saturday. Saying that if Scotland put 50 past wales on sat warren will still pick Jaime Roberts and his welsh mates for the lions over any Scotsman
We didn't deserve to win last week, unless we sort out our lineout we won't win this week.

Welsh and flair. That’s two words you never see in the same sentence.
missed the welsh flair last week, saw quite a bit of scottish flair though
If you’re relying on flair, Wales have no chance. They play a boring, defence based game.
Only North and Liam have flair.
Only North and Liam have flair.
Welsh flair ? ......you should be on the stage Wales are hopeless....every back puts his foot to the ball instinctively,it's pitiful.
No mention of Navidi, as to why he is not included. Unless he is injured that is a bizarre omition.
Tomkins and Watkin need the game of their lives.
The Scottish centres picked aren’t overly exciting either... Redpath will be a miss!
Tompkins does but Watkin is a class act and will be a regular pick
I guess you're right, but we'll never know. Wales were playing better, retaining possession and were 6-0 up till then... so I guess we'll never know. Ireland have beaten far better teams in the past with 14 men (SA for one).
I don't think many Welsh suporters will disagree with you though (particularly after the needless extra time debacle!) :-)

PIM is, and always has been, s thug. Selecting him in.internationals is always a massive risk. And so Ireland got what was always coming down the line. Anyway, 2 tries to 1 means the better side were bivtorious.
I thought that wales played their best before he was sent off. Seemed to disrupt wales more than Ireland
dont agree the welsh defence was impregnable and they scored 2 superb tries, worthy winners. besides pom behaved like a thug and wales lost their prop too because of it
wow unbelievable negative comments on selection here - it's the best team we can put out so let's get behind the team. Personally looking forward to see Halaholo get on - hope you has a good one.
I personally dislike picking non Welsh people in our national side.....I thought we were past the desperation of doing that....they should abolish that rule imo
Personally I’d like to see a Welshman get a chance to represent his country instead of this chap.
Agreed. Great player for the Blues and deserves his chance at centre. It's interesting as not many people complained about Parkes not being Welsh when we was putting his body on the line, and Parkes was actually named in the match day squad before he was even eligible!
Nothing to lose suppose, so many missing players hard to make case for Wales for this game.
Yet Wales will triumph over 80 minutes. Look how cocky the Irish were last weekend.Stephen Ferris was proved so wrong.
Scotland 49 - 10 Wales

Bench is a bit thin.
It's also an indication that the back line options are thin with all the injuries and absences.

Not really....
Scotland have been poor for ages. I am not sure if they are any good now frankly. Improving, yes.
England were dire last week by the way.
Scotland are firm favourites against a ageing, out of form, injury ravaged wales side. However it’s still going to be close.
When Scotland have won something I may reassess my opinion.

all the pressure on Scotland to back up their performance last week. Have never been in this position before and the big question is whether they can handle the favourites tag on home soil. Shame for them that they dont have 60,000 fans willing in the ground. based on last week it should be scotlands to loose but two 6N wins on the trot for the men in blue is just unheard of in modern times.
Aw, such a shame the Scots don,t have a big crowd screaming for them!! What about Wales? Why do you think the Scots scraped a win in Llanelli?
As a humble Scot [see my post below] can I just mention that we won 3 in a row last year, but wouldn't like to call the result this weekend.
If you factor in last seasons 6N then Scotland are going for their 5th straight 6N win. Even more unheard of I suppose.

I think they should stuff the Lions with Scots. Let them do some of the heavy lifting for a change.
No news on Navidi? Perrsonally, I would prefer to have seen Roberts instead of a 30 year old Kiwi in the squad, even a 34 year old Roberts. A great impact player with 30 mins to go. Never mind the future, more important to win now.
So according to Wales Online Navidi has an achilles issue.
If I was Pivac I'd be chatting to Harry Randall after Jones foolishly left him out of his squad of "world beaters" again.
Who the neck is Harry Randall? Wasn,t he the Michael Caine character in the film Funeral In B erlin?
I'd be begging him as he and Sheedy could be great for the future. Also if someone mentions Jamie Roberts again I'll scream! He's now to slow, his type of wham bam style no longer needed and predictable
Trouble is, Randell's got ambition so Wayne's got no chance
Big ask going up there and beating the in form Scots, especially with all the injuries so it's great to see Williams back. As long as they play with a bit of pride, give it a crack and we have a good game.
Pivac has a personal issue with Rhys Webb and it will affect our chances. Webb, by a country mile, is the best Scrum Half in the UK. I have lost all respect for the Pivac. He is out of his depth
quote: by a country mile, is the best Scrum Half in the UK. Are you feeling ok? Way too slow, not fit, never the same since he went abroad. As a Scot, I'd love him to play on Saturday
No have to disagree rhys webb is not the best anymore and you can tell he has lost a yard or 2 in pace. also if i was coach and told a player to go away and work on a couple of thing thas why he is not in the squad for him to turn round and say in an interveiw that i he wont change/work on his game shows a bad attitude
Is he hell, i would back my two Scarlets 9's all day long against Webb.

No Navidi; the quest to beat Scotland just got harder. Scotland with Watson are a good jackaling team. Including Wainwright (who I like as a player) might give us a better lineout option but we might struggle at breakdown. Not sure why Macleod not on bench instead of Botham (again I like both players but Macleod was first choice). Good luck boys, all of Wales is with you.
Macleod is injured sadly... was looking forward to seeing him in action
Replying to myself!! .. just read that Macleod is also injured .. what are they doing at the training camp??

Where’s the logic in not playing Roberts in favour of a 30 year old New Zealander. Ignoring tried and tested for no long term prospect is very short sighted.
Because hallahollow has quick hands quick and Wales need quick ball no need for the crash ball rubbish
Because Haloholo is the best 12 in Wales, especially in attack. Roberts is years past his sell by date, gets stopped every time for Gwent Dragons, doesn't have the pace to get away from a defender or get back to cover. He can still partially break a tackle at Pro14 level and pop it to support or take 2 defenders to tackle him for a short period of time, but he isnt the answeranymore.

And, as a humble Welshman, might I remind you Scots that Wales have won 4, yes 4 Grand Slams between the years 2005 and 2019. No one else comes close.

Agree absolutely - and I say that as a Wales and Ospreys supporter. Unfortunately RW lacks pace & no amount of skill makes up for that
In addition he had become a little predictable - go back & watch his last game vs the Aussies. You can see them waiting for his trademark 'snipe' & wrapped him up good and proper. Pretty pleased with Pivac selection at 9 really

There's no questioning J Roberts's abilities, it would've been good to see him in along side Watkins or Tompkins for first 50 mins then bring on Halaholo when the defence tired & stretched - looking forward - should be a great game !
I suspect u mean Peter OMahony when u say PIM, if so I agree I do not understand how he managed to get the 6 match ban halved due to good prior record, we all know he’s a thug and reducing bans makes a mockery of the system. We say we are coming down hard on contact to the face and then half a guys ban when he does it. So blatant, 6 match ban should have stood and then people might get the message
I am always a bit nervous when Scotland are favourites but they are and deservedley so. If Biggar adopts his usual offensive tactic of constantly hoofing the ball as high in the air as he can then I can see big problems for Wales. Is Rob Evans injured?
However, we will see. Here's hoping for a good, clean game. It's gonna be cold in Edinburgh!

Thanks Dai. Thought that he must have been. The one Welsh prop that I rate highly.

Are we supposed to be impressed that you were forced to fight for the army of your oppressor? Not exactly Wales' proudest moment. It's bad enough you play for their cricket team but never get a mention when England win. Have some ambition man.
Yes because that ended well for them.
Your correct in what you say about both red card offences and I must admit liam was a bit of a loose cannon against the blues, hopefully tho the Welsh coaching set up will have been in his ear and try to get his discipline in order! Good to see him back tho, unfortunate about the other players that are injured tho!
Russell,s deplorable goalkicking, means that Wales are likely to be vying for the win in the 2 nd half even with a reserve three quarter line. I feel Wales will win it when Willis comes on for Tompkins.
If Scotland play anything like last week they will open up Wales like a can of woop @ss.
An Ireland side that only managed to get close to the Welsh try line on one solitary occasion! Ha ha ha
Welsh by ‘vacation’.....
We didn't deserve to win last week, unless we sort out our lineout we won't win this week.
Why is Redpath not playing ? He had an excellent debut cap against a lack lustre England last week ?
No mention of Navidi, as to why he is not included. Unless he is injured that is a bizarre omition.
Where’s the logic in not playing Roberts in favour of a 30 year old New Zealander. Ignoring tried and tested for no long term prospect is very short sighted.
I disagree...I would have liked to have seen Roberts and Hola together. Blunt force and subtlety together. As it is, we're getting two fairly similar, less experienced players.
Scotland are on a roll for sure, and they are (or the BBC?) bigging themselves up with saying who is a shoe in for the Lions, already.
What could possibly go wrong??
What could possibly go wrong??
That's the usual media. I don't think any of that Scotland team have already dug out their passport. I think they are focused on the here and now which is the usual tricky Wales coming to town.

There is absolutely no call for your racist nonsense, absolutely disgusting and all too typical.

Outplayed your outfit with 14 men for 66 minutes!

The lack of threat we have over the ball is worrying. Watson could have a field day.
Agree, we need to be clever at the breakdown. Either hit it hard or get the ball out quickly, there is no excuse to contnually hold the ball in waiting for the attacking players to align as the defence has had time to do the same. If there is a player to take it up and a player running support pass it.
2 evenly matched teams....should be a cracker. I hope rugby is the winner.
Is he hell, i would back my two Scarlets 9's all day long against Webb.
I am simply enjoying the fact that there is genuine discussion about Scotland being favourites for a 6N game. It wasn’t so long ago that they were fighting Italy for perennial wooden spooners. It all adds to the great spectacle that this great tournament is and it’s bringing welcome relief from all that is going on in the world right now. I’ve not got out much lately....Hurrah for Rugby. ?? ??
It is brilliant, Scotland have had "potential" (i.e. never being there) for years but they've really climbed the curve over the last two years. I hope they don't have a purple patch and then drop back, it would be great to permanently have 5 really competitive teams in the 6N.
No mention of Navidi, as to why he is not included. Unless he is injured that is a bizarre omition.
What a shame that the predicted rain will probably make the match a kicking contest. Wales to win that, hands down.
Given all the injuries a decent selection - pleased to see Hardy on the bench & while I'd love to see JR play & take another step towards a 100 caps WH probably the better option - good luck to him
Most important thing isn't who but what - let's hope the lineout is sorted out! Be tough day if it isn't

Yes, despite the forward dominance at Twickenham, Scotland only managed to score 3 times in the entire 80 minutes! Pathetic
