Mahomes played pretty well to be fair, he had absolutely zero protection from his offensive line, had to drop back almost every play, and still managed to hit his receivers with some ridiculous passes that they dropped.

Thx Trevor. That Chiefs offence has won a huge number of games! BUT - in this one, they had a re-jigged O-Line 'protecting' the QB (or not!), and were facing a wonderful defensive game plan designed by the Bucs co-ordinator, and carried out by his squad.

Did not expect this game to be so one-sided. The Bucs defence utterly dominated this game, Mahomes was clearly missing the safety of Eric Fisher. The Tampa Bay front-7 deserve all the credit for this win, but what a great achievement for Brady (who will almost certainly win the SB MVP despite Barrett, White, Gronk and JPP arguably all having a greater claim to it)

I'm not a Tom fan, i think he or Belichick were directly responsible for deflategate as NO WAY an equipment guy does that off his own back. However as a Pro you must do all in your power and then some to win, bending or even breaking the rules.

I felt KC were unfairly penalized a lot and it would seem the refs ignored TB infractions.

However Brady w/o Belichick= 1 SB win, Belichick w/o Brady =0

Hang on, that roster was already stacked with talent, brady and the bunch were just the icing on the cake. It's why Tom moved, he didn't want to work/wait through another rebuild at his age, and that's understandable. Now he's tied with bb on 7.

Well the Bucs were far from the worst franchise in the league but, fair play to Brady, he's been very good this year. I've long been one of those who thought that the Pats success was more Belichek than Brady but I guess I was wrong about that.

GOAT? I don't believe in GOATs but he's probably the best pocket passer and team leader in the game. Give him a good OL and he'll tear you apart.

To be fair, Rodgers was missing the best players in his O-line and that Tampa front 7 had already dominated them earlier in the season (when the O-line was fully healthy), and Brees looked atrocious after his return from injury, so I'm not convinced of a conspiracy this time. The Bucs really turned it around after their bye week, and weren't the team that went 1-5 against teams over .500 anymore

Buccs defense just closed Mahomes down. As commentators have said, once the Buccs establish superiority on the line of scrimmage, offense or defense the Chiefs were shut down. KC expected it to be BAU whereas Tampa came with a specific Game Plan coupled with the hot 4 from New England and how it worked. Reminded me of the 80's when the Bears destroyed the Patriots.

Well done to the Buccaneers & their defence, totally shut down & dominated the Chiefs offence. Bad day at the office for Mahomes & co. Sometimes, you can learn a lot more in defeat. Experience will always prevail over youth, so proved the case today. Any question's about who's GOAT between Brady & Mahomes:
Brady = 7
Mahomes = 1

Brady = 7
Mahomes = 1

I'm a fan of AF but i wouldn't claim to know everything about it. When I watch the difference between the way the 2 QBs play the old head of Brady is all about mangement and keep my pocket clear of the defence and he delivers. Mahomes on the other hand has a tendency to go for too much glory by running the ball and less about team management. He wont last as long as Brady playing like that.

The difference in the teams was the men in front of the quarterbacks one side gave their QB time the other side (injury ridden) couldn’t protect theirs that is often where games are won & lost (in the trenches as some would describe)

Mahomes had to as Tampa were generating so much pressure. The pocket was collapsing around him almost every play. I don't think he got anything going til Q4 when they were 31-9 up and starting to drop into coverage. The Buccaneer's D won that championship.

Thx Heraldic. Mahomes does run if he needs to, quite a few QBs do that. Brady doesn't very much, never been his style. Neither did Peyton Manning, or Joe Montana, other fabulous QBs of old. Mahomes in THIS game got chased around, as they were desperate to try & get a score, plus their injury riddled O-line (supposed to protect the QB), was being made to look silly by the Bucs' defence.

Some people claiming Brady as the all time great in all sports. What rubbish. In past 2 years, beeb has led me to believe that Kapernick, Willams, James and Rapinoe are the only contenders for the title of all time great.

Mahomes had to as Tampa were generating so much pressure. The pocket was collapsing around him almost every play. I don't think he got anything going til Q4 when they were 31-9 up and starting to drop into coverage. The Buccaneer's D won that championship.

It's an interesting sport - a mixture of good planning, athletism and brawn. However, the numerous breaks and coaches can make it difficult for us Brits to appreciate, especially when the winning quarter back boasts of being World Champions. Who else plays it?

I suppose you answer your own question. Could a team from anywhere else in the world beat the SuperBowl champions? The answer is No. They don't have the coaches, resources or experience to do it. I guess that makes them the best team in the world. Other sports have multiple professional divisions around the globe. If the best Canadian, Brit or Euro side played them, they would get destroyed.

Well, it is indeed a great game, when played well. It's not that hard to follow either. As for "World Champs" - he's not technically wrong! As he'd just set umpteen records for winning, also being extremely old to even be playing, I'd say that Brady was entitled to be a bit over excited?

The game would be vastly improved if they simply did away with all of the breaks and side-line coaching. Prepare your team - as all-rounders - send them out for a solid, non-stop, 30 minutes half of faster-paced play. We'd also perhaps see an answer to part of the OP's question: we'd know which NFL and AFL sides had the aerobic fitness and all-round skills to match the best rugby teams.

I served alongside the Americans in Berlin in the late 80's/90's. I remember winding them up mercilessly following the London Monarchs 1991 World League of American Football win over Barcelona in the final. making the Monarchs the World Champions. That was my argument anyway. As I pointed out to them, New York Giants were only national champions, we were world champions. Cue American outrage!

I am not American or British but can understand why Brits can find it difficult to appreciate American Football. American Football has some great athletes but is a dreadful game - full of stoppages! Brit sports like Rugby Union and Soccer / Football are much better than American Football which is why they are much more popular worldwide. Much better than Superbowl / "Superbore".

To be World Champion you need to play in a World Championship, ie a competition open to all nations/nationalities to enter. Winning the SuperBowl is akin to winning the FA cup, ie a domestic competition. Hope that clears it up for you.

Thx America? Your "very few watch" would be why the games played here (4 a season pre Covid) sell out in minutes? Superbowl is a major event in Sports, & BBC reports (IF you ACTUALLY check the sports section) on a vast range of sports that really do have few people watching. Go back to watching our football, packed with diving cheats, and VAR that doesn't work (NFL's review has for many years).
