Joe Root scores an imperious double century as England continue their strong start to the first Test against India on day two in Chennai.

600 in India is like 300 in England. It’s a solid base but we need 50s from the allrounders (Bess and Leach) to be confident of not having to bat last on a minefield ... and risk being skittled out for 90

Oh rubbish! I saw Vaughan complimenting India on their win in Australia and admitting he'd got egg on his face regarding his prediction just the other day!

The loss of TMS is a bonus because it has gone down the drain. TMS people more interested in talking nonsense than telling us what is happening on the field of play. Emily Rainford-Brent? Why?

Archers bowling average is better than Mark Woods and yet he comes in for far more stock than Wood ever does. I’ve nothing against Wood but why do you think that is?

BBC is really pathetic. It blocked my comment where I said England should be docked 200 runs when they play in India because England is an imperial power.

BBC is pathetic and I am forced to pay a tax to keep it afloat.

Agreed. Can’t even provide decent sports coverage these days.

And dead set on wasting £50M on diversity rather than entertaining programming

Sport broadcast rights are hugely expensive. The BBC is not there just for sport fans particularly cricket . They can’t compete with Sky or BT and shouldn’t try . They would get roundly criticised if they did as most people aren’t avid sport fans . If you want to watch sport , get Sky and BT .

BBC is removing my comments as soon as I make them. I love the BBC and I don't know how to praise the BBC. I hope this comment will not be removed. Removed

Who else would love to see a 4 match T20 series between England and England 'A' as World cup warm up preparations? England 'A' could include some of the BBL's best performers such as Hales, Vince, Livingstone, Billings and Gregory. The games would be highly competitive and an excellent way for players to put their hands up for eventual selection for the T20I World cup.

Comments from keyboard critics on here yesterday such as "Even our part-timers Stokes and Root are better than Archer and Bess" and "Archer should be nowhere near the England cricket team" have not aged well then
