Covid: Virus cases show clear signs of fall in most of UK

The virus's reproduction, or R, number is estimated to be between 0.7 and 1.
We can't have news like that or how else will SAGE et al maintain the fear and their grip over society ? Removed

This is excellent news.

Time to start easing the restrictions, get the economy restarted, open the borders and get the kids back to school.

These restrictions have done real damage to the long term prospects of our society over the last year, particularly to the 10 million children who should be in school, and the sooner we get back up and running the better.

Any decent person could be expected to express just a hint of gratitude to the UK government for securing more doses of vaccine per capita than a!most every other country especially those in the EU. Not Sturgeon, however, she can't even bring herself to say Oxford. She is a national disgrace.

I cannot believe the pathetic covid deniers on this HYS. My father had a bleed on his brain 2 weeks ago and couldnt get a bed in hospital because of all the (fake?) covid patients taking all the beds. We had to watch him go down hill hour by hour for 4 days before he could be taken in and operated on. You Covid deniers are an absolute disgrace to this country and the decent people of it. Removed

The bottom line is that in this modern day & age, many believe such a pandemic cannot possibly happen, and therefore choose to believe it is not happening. And yet it is humans ignorance, stupidity, greed for supply & demand is what caused this virus in the first place. Wonder if the world will ever learn from this.

If you’ve voted Tory or labour for the last 20 years you’ve got to take some blame. They placed the NHS on a cliff edge, covid was the nudge to tip it over. Don’t kid yourself that we have a robust and resilient health service that was hit by unimaginable strain, it was not fit for purpose and the government and their voters played their part in creating that.

Sorry to hear that, Paul. I hope the outcome was good.
I see now why you are called the great unwashed. The government promote a "blitz" narrative and you all lap it up like good little proles. Its a virus, it will be with us a long time and so will the next one and the next one. But the timing of this virus and the false agenda by the government should raise serious questions as to its origin, but no forget that lets wave some union jacks. Idiots. Removed

Excellent news and reinforces the fact that lockdowns and harmful border restrictions are not needed.

Open all borders and schools now.
They are needed - it's the semi-lockdown we are in, together with the border restrictions that is bringing the rate down - or are you one of those people that haunts empty hospital corridors on a Sunday night to prove the whole thing is a hoax? Removed

“Respected scientists”, as opposed to all the respected scientists on the other side, from institutions including Oxford and Stanford - you know, the ones making arguments supported by all available data which shows this is by no means unprecedented.

Death rate for 2020 comparable to 2008, hospital occupancy similar to every other year of the last 5.
You are right SD the establishment has made this whole thing up just to bugger up your life. It’s a hoax. It’s not real.
