Everything that could go wrong for England has so this is certainly the best opportunity Scotland will ever have to beat them. Having said that, I would still expect a streetwise England to win.

Playing for 3rd and 4th....

France and Ireland look the strongest teams by some distance.

France are now on a different level to the rest, stacked full of real flair. At last, a good French team.

Wales are ageing and the grass roots game is broke, with very little talent.

I fear for wales, they have been brilliant over the last 15 years. Scotland type slump awaits.

Italy, still last.

Brilliant that the 6 Nations are back on. Shame the fans can't be there but after the year we've had to endure just glad we can watch them on TV.
I know it's a big ask but please can we have a repeat of the bonkers try-fest of 2019?

6N finished but a few months ago, "Autumn nations cup?" a couple of months ago. Now the 6N starts AGAIN?
Quantity over Quality is the order of the day. Player welfare - no concern to the old farts who run rugby.
No one in England is able to watch England play live at Twickers on free to view TV. No one is allowed in the stadium to watch any games.
WHAT IS THE POINT?
Could it be more ridiculous?

Seeing how their 3rd/youth side pushed England into extra time in the Nations Cup and only lost to some dodgy decisions, my money is on a French clean sweep.
Got continuity in selection, sting coaching set up, obvious strength in depth as they proved recently at Twickenham. And the classic combo of French forward power and attacking flair.

if that's how you feel you might as well not turn your telly on. england are 1/7 and Scotland 6/1. So what? It's just 15 v 15 and who turns up with their head right. Crikey where did you Scots get this one from,I know your always pessimistic until you win,but this one is down right defeatist.
I see Scotland winning this one too many questions about England Daly,Watson one not playing and the other playing poorly,a new centre combination and weakened pack.EJ hasn’t even picked on form very reliant on teams from the bottom of the table.

Such rubbish. England selected Jonny Hill over the experienced Lawes and the two props have shown they are strong scrummagers and will do a decent job, if not quite the same with the ball in hand as normal starters. Wilson was getting MoM 2 yrs ago. Utter Rubbish, this is not a weakened England team. If Scotland win it's because they beat a strong English team. Their only excuse is undercooked.

I think Hogg and Russell earn considerably more than their England counterparts but I am not sure what that has to do with anything
only way to resolve our differencies is the taunt that British troops perfomed worst in ww2, which is laughable, the Scots & English knew that too.

the honour of the army retreat to hold up the Germans in dunkirk retreat fell on the mainly English 2nd div

the English fought so well, especially against the Waffen SS, they were shot after they were overrun

There's about 4 maybe 5 at the most and they are the so called 100% nailed on Lions starters who have been in intensive training for weeks more than anyone else under Eddies watchful eye and are fresh.
Compare that to many of the Scotland players having played last weekend
Pretty unfair advantage don't you agree?

"Favourites is not always a tag that has suited England, with the most recent example their near-embarrassment in the Autumn Nations Cup final against a second-string France side."

I thought Fordyce had left the BBC but it seems his smell is still lingering.

Very inconvenient that England actually won it as usual.

in the eyes of the BBC, the level of superlatives for English wins is always a tier lower than the superlatives for Scottish, welsh or Irish wins. Likewise there’s always false inferences to Scotland, Wales and Ireland somehow having a stronger team ethos due to a perceived stronger national identity.
I don't see many problems for England, I dare say that the English women's team would give Scotland a run for their money. Removed

Rugby. The last bastion of sport with an inbuilt class system. Teams are even designated as "tier 1" or "tier 3" nations. This helps the ref to decide which side they should be biased towards. A game hamstrung by its baffling multitude of rules, anyone of which the ref can interpret to halt a lower ranked team's attack or give a last minute pen to the higher ranked team if needed.

Lots of people resting their cases, I didn’t know we were in the company of so many barristers. Better watch what you say lads, the educated are in town!

Lived in England for a long time and support them in every competition where Scotland either don’t qualify or exit.

Like everyone I want my ream to win but I’ve never been one for the stupid hatred shown mostly I’d say by those who have probably never ventured north or south.

I hope its a classic like last year .

Come on Scotland !

I am the same lived in England most of my life but born in Scotland, my children are English and support England.

England is my second team and like you like them to do well a lot of people I speak get really surprised when I say that to them. Let’s hope for a great game ??

Both you and Andrew come from Scotland and live in England? One has to wonder what you think of Inderef 2 in Scotland? Do you get a vote? if not why not??
On the main thing its great to see Scotland's resurgence but I do think Twickers is a step too far at the moment. Best of luck hope we have a great game though!

Im the opposite, english to the core but lived in scotland for last 30 years. Before moving here always supported scotland unless they played england, however folks here in the north east make it hard to be as even handed, fair and sporting as you are - they hate the english and its hard not to reciprocate - but i will try harder - inspired!

Same here. Well said, some tribal haters don't understand but that's their own problem. Real rugby followers get it completely.

I'm the opposite, live in Scotland, born in England. I go and watch Scotland every year at Murrayfield, and cheer them on, shout as loud as any other Scotland supporter, but my First team is England. Lets hope for a good exciting game. Come On England.

Scots have a better attacking midfield, England will play tight set piece kick chase rugby. Although new selections for both teams in the centres so we shall see. Looking forward to a great if not cold and wet game.

Every country has absentees, but England with by far the most money, players, resources etc is the one to line their excuses up early

Game day then, can't wait. Shame this HYS has already descended into a name calling farce but that was inevitable.
Not sure how anyone can say England have a depleted pack, yes missing a few players in front row but no excuses.
Pressure on England? There always is, as we all know England is the one team everyone wants to beat.

Should be a cracker.

England certainly have depth, but Mako, Sinckler and Underhill are world class, any side would miss them.

England by 20+ or Scotland by 3! It’s one of those games for me. Unsure which England will turn up.

Let's face it. If Scotland win it will be because they play a blinder and England play badly. Fair enough. But they still won't be able to win a whole tournament anywhere, anytime.

At risk of enraging the already enraged trolls you are right. Scotland could well win today but in all honesty I cannot see them beating France/Wales/Ireland as well.
England however are capable of beating all.
Still doesn't dissuade me that France are favourites this year though.

New game. Take a drink EVERYTIME you see a law abused openly right in front of the Ref and Touch Judge that goes unpunished.
You can all down what you have in your hand for "in front of the kicker" at the start of the Match.
Offside. Off feet. Not straight. Foot up.
No laws = No game

The very fact that there are more downvotes underlines the spiral the game has been in for a while.
Just stand next to an opposition player and take him out of the game. You won't get penalised.
Entertainment doesn't do any good for Sport. You may as well be playing Murderball....

2 years ago at Twickenham Farrell imploded. Like most of the country I just cant understand with Joe Simmonds isnt given a chance to replace him, Farrell can be rattled and wont be too old at the next world cup but certainly wont be a spring checn. If Russell can rattle his again will Eddie keep with him?

Autumn Nations final aside, he is a points machine therefore undroppable.

I'm no fan either but he's a safe pair of hands.

Risk yes but think this Scottish side is being super hyped . Scotland were ok last year and Russell is a good player but if England play well they should win . Experienced team with a strong bench. Looking forward to a tough game

Yep if both teams play to potential Eng will win. Scotland could well win but it will take them playing their best game and Eng to fall apart which in fairness could happen as we have seen.
Eng at home for what it's worth so that is in their favour but lack of crowd diminishes advantage.
