Good story to release to try & distract from the mass deaths, incompetence & corruption.
... The same mass deaths that are happening in any other number of places.

*Of course* mistakes have been made - mistakes which could've been better handles with the benefit of 20/20 hindsight. The self same criticisms could equally well be levelled at France, Spain, Germany, Belgium, USA etc.

This grievance-chimpery on the part of the Left is just so irritating. Just grow up and get real.

I believe our recording of deaths is also much wider than many other countries. You may get run over by a bus but, if you have a positive test, you will go down as a covid death. There is a big difference between 'died of' and 'died with'.

I agree regarding number of deaths, that mistakes have been made globally but please, I am a Labour Party member, a Union member and perhaps you regard me as being on the Left. I do not need to grow up nor get real. I like a huge majority of people in the UK and rest of the world will ask questions about our handling of the pandemic, a right many of us have but not all. The answers may be painful.

And the Boris apologists make me sick. Just because the useless PM you voted in "Got Brexit Done" is no reason to suck up. Mistakes were made with 20/20 foresight. Boris wandering around shaking hands with Covid patients, "herd immunity", defending Cummings... all of these things caused deaths, directly or indirectly. Add in slow lockdown time three...

You grow up, you get real.

The bed wetting risk aversion of these people just beggers belief. Yes 100K etc, but guess what - 600K people die each year in the UK, mostly elderly from disease.
What an sheet head you are. 600K die a year? So who cares about another 100K. It's a pity they all wouldn't hurry up and die so you can get to the Cinema or out for a nice meal?

The Lockdown cannot be lifted, if anything it must be made stricter, with all shops closed and no leaving the house for any reason...curfews and banning driving must also be brought in. The Lockdown must also be made permanent as the virus mutates and another virus could come along at any time, this is the only way to protect and save lives.

The Government is being cautious about what it announces in large part because the anti British press, with the BBC in its vanguard will interpret any reaction to changes out of its control as a U turn, and any deviation from it as an abject failure. The BBC’s rabid anti British and anti government approach from day 1 has led to less information, lower morale, less compliance and more deaths. VFM!

Uhm I know people who have died that are under 40 and were fit and well - but still got Covid and still lost their lives - so please keep your pathetic attempts at making out this is not "serious" to yourself.
The person said "most". Learn to read and PLEASE KEEP YOUR PATHETIC ATTEMPTS at spreading negativity and stupidity to yourself.
I don't agree with many of what the person said, but I can at least read and use basic comprehension skills to form an appropriate response. Idiot.

With the shocking and disgraceful news of over 100,000 UK Covid deaths it's time to take the gloves off and make this lockdown full and mandatory until at least summer like Australia and NZ have with excellent results.

Be warned, I will be filming and reporting ANYONE I see breaking the rules and laugh as you get fined by our brave police. We have been far too soft here, as the numbers prove!

Dear BBC,
Please don't start any reports with Boris Johnson promises. He has promised a plethora of things over a long period of time and if I was a bookmaker I'd be offering around 20/1 based on previous promises. In racing terms he's a Maiden.

Ha ha ha ha, the EU at its dictatorship best DEMANDING the UK'S vaccines from UK manufacturing sites ????????.
Expecting to jump the queue even though they signed supply contracts ,3 months after the UK signed theirs..
Can just imagine how many vaccines the UK would have had if we had joined in with the EU's joint supply contact.
I guess ZERO ????????????????

Does it matter what Sturgeon says/thinks? She lost her credibility when she didn't sack herself for breaking covid rules didn't she? Or was taking your mask off not deemed enough of a breach? I can understand that, we're still letting people in from countries with high infection rates so a maskless Sturgeon, even if breathing heavily, probably isn't a concern.

Just sit in your armchair, wonder where you live, bet not UK though. Removed
Boris being prudent by seeing details before easing lockdown.

So many deflection post, many can only be described as slimy, the slime posted is so strange nothing constructive just a few posters trying to deflect real issues of covid, but they are in denial, what a bore to be stuck in an armchair, slim chance of being right on anything if only posting when bored in a armchair

Attacking a fellow HYS user poster on a personal & rather childish basis isn't de rigueur on HYS. But your first sentence is a hoot. Yep, Johnson may finally have learned from his mistakes. Yay!!

Just listening to that lickspittle "Gove" on TV trying to justify Boris Johnson's jolly to Scotland. He suggests that "on the ground information" from individuals in vaccination centres etc. is essential to thank citizens involved in fighting the virus, is important.
When explained to Gove that all this could be achieved using Phone, Skype etc., he very deftly switched to Goebbels waffle mode.

A quick simple guide for tabloid-reading Brexiteers:

EU company develops first vaccine, sells it to UK.

Brexiteers get caught out claiming Brexit allowed us to approve first (lies).

AstraZeneca develops jab, EU waits for it & pre-orders some.

AstraZeneca signs contract...then defaults on supply. A row erupts.

UK billionaire-owned press perpetuates lies about EU to UK sheeple.

..... and how do we find this out during lockdown?

Maybe take a trip to Scotland?

120,000 covid dead so far according to the ONS. Johnson clearly behind the curve the whole time bungling borders, bungling lock downs, bungling “back to the office”, bungling Cummings etc etc.

Professor Ferguson, the leading U.K. expert, was correct all along. Not really a surprise.

But covid deniers / gammons wouldn’t have it.

I do hope that somehow Scotland keep him there. They should put an immediate curfew in place stopping anyone crossing the border once he arrives. That would ensure an independence victory and keep him away from causing more damage here. It has come as a shock to hear that he thinks that he has a plan. He hasn't had a clue so far. I wonder if he knows why we are short of medics.

As opposed to a self important we know best over opinionated scot like sturgeon?
_
Sturgeon (like or loathe her) is a solicitor by training (like or loathe them) eloquent and precise, yes committed to a cause (like or loathe it)
Now compare that to the Bloke from the Washing Basket: a lying, 'populist' bandwagoning, blustering, politician of convenience, committed only to himself
A perfect analogy of the Village Idiot. Removed

Why do you think it is OK for the UK to give some of our vaccines to 'help out the EU' but do not see the need for the EU to help out the UK by stopping the illegal migrant routes through France which are bringing Covid to the UK?

You would not answer yesterday, let's try again.

1) It isn't OUR vaccine. It is a vaccine, made by a multinational in UK. It belongs to AZ, not to the UK
2) UK plant(s) were, in part, funded by EU
3) Pfizer vaccine is made in EU
4) Until recently, AZ vaccine we were using was also manuf in EU
5) France IS helping us police our borders. Your ignorance of that is worrying.
6) You have no idea if any, let along all illegal immigrants have Covid.
