James Anderson and Joe Root keep England in contention on day two of the second Test against Sri Lanka in Galle.
I don't now were else to write this, so here goes....Hank Aaron died yesterday (not only baseball royalty, a great human being, think Gary Sobers), and nothing on the BBC Sport front page......bigger impact on his Sport than Maradona.....considering all the NFL and basketball that is on here, could have found a front page space somewhere for this titan of his Sport and Country as a whole!!! Interesting point. However, Aaron might be a giant in baseball but I am not sure Baseball resonates with many in the UK. Few will have heard of him and the BBC needs to report to its base. I doubt if the Washington Post or CBS will give much space to Gary Sobers dying.

I love baseball. And Aaron was a legend

However this is a cricket thread, google 'points of view' maybe?
Anyone else wondering what Adil Rashid is doing this winter? You know, the english spinner who bowls quite straight with a white ball and can make the likes of Kohli look shocked by how much turn he gets?

Another glorious case of mismanagement. If only Eoin Morgan was a test batsman it could have been so different

Rashid is resting his body as he struggling with injuries . So he is happy playing White ball as not so hard impact on his body.

If you will forgive me everyone - can anyone explain to me why my post asking about Adil Rashids whereabouts was removed by the moderators?

In what was was it off topic to wonder where our most skilled spinner was?

More bafflement.

Cos the BBC is run by idiots
Sometimes these decisions to remove some of our posts are ridiculous and unexplainable. With power comes responsibility and often a sense of overblown self importance. Removed

Eng in proper trouble here - only 3 out of 5 specialist batsmen capable of scoring at all

We need a proper rethink - it's not helping Sibley and Crawley to send them to India to be brutalised by the Indian spinners

England management don't appear to take evidence from performance in managing thought process issues

Like picking Ali who is without any direction every time he goes out to bat

I certainly wouldn't swap Root for Smith, even if he wasn't in form. The latter is ugly to watch, mean of spirit and an outright cheat.
Didn’t Stokes mock a disabled child?? Removed

is that a fact or an allegation? Also it is not against the rules of the game, we are talking cricket.

He's the same age as James Anderson. If Jimmy can Wang it down there at 80 odd mph for 29 overs, surely we could coax Monty to loop a few pies down there for a couple of weeks. Maybe some star jumps and 10mins on the treadmill to loosen himself up- worth a crack.

Gonna be difficult for Bess. He won't be used to seeing a spinning ball.

Why is it that supporters' optimism is so high when England isn't playing? ??
