Newcastle boss Steve Bruce says a pressure-relieving win at Everton came from a "braver" approach crowned by Callum Wilson's double.

I think you’ll find that the media never big us up. They hate us. It’s Everton fans who haven’t lived with the abject failure for 48 of the last 51 years once this torture is over and a result more garbage sides simply have to put their feet, arms (apparently) in and these cowards will fold. Reckon we could finish with a record season for home losses, because all the garbage teams just work hard.

As a blue I have to say Newcastle were as good as we were bad. Wilson always scores against us and scored a similar header against us when at Bournemouth. Our performance was a carbon copy of the West Ham game. We were quite negative with a slow build up and playing for one nil which never came. We should be more on the front foot against teams, especially ones in a poor run.

Wilson was top drawer.

If Everton isn’t twinned with Tottingham it should be!

Absoslueely correct. Players like Mina should get a yellow card for faking injuries. If VAR can assess the smallest of offside decisions then it can also decide who is faking injury.
What on earth has this game got to do with Tottenham???

Newcastle fans are very ungrateful. The amount of abuse Bruce gets while they do not deserve anyone better. Cabbage throwing on this posting board, body shaming, abuse of coaches should not be tolerated.Newcastle are a tiny and mediocre club with spells of "greatness " given by Keegan and Robson. Go back to your place, to your 70's. There is your greatness. You deserve far worse for such disrespect

Very poor from the Blues today and that's not having a go at Newcastle.
Newcastle did a number on us and deserved the win.
Carlo's tactics in the 2nd half were abysmal, no creativity, no effort and no effect.
With time and new players change will happen.
Bubble well and truly burst but it was a good dream.
Congratulations Newcastle

'relieved the pressure on Bruce'.

Teams of Newcastle's ilk need a reality check. Considering the messy infrastructure at the club and limited budget they should be happy being comfortably out the bottom three. They seem to have learned nothing from the fate of other clubs with ideas above their station.

I'm a Palace fan, and happy if we stay up at the end of the season.

Give Bruce a break.
