Unfortunately when it comes to sport some people will deny anything when it comes to people/teams they don't like.

Why though I'll never know.
Well said sir. It seems only us Villa boys speak sense anymore. JH was a masterclass against v Ronnie who must now practice his his break offs (cost him 2 frames). TBF they both were on it 5 consecutive centuries proves that stat.

I went to see him in an exhibition in Oldham as a kid and he was a disgrace, Michael Wild made the highest break of 95 vs him all night and he didn't look bothered 1 bit.

I'll always remember what a disappointment that night was but that doesn't mean I say there's someone better than him when there just isn't.

Higgins of old, ROS is old.

But, looks like there is soon to be a greatest player ever, to take over from Hendry. The young players play the best, but think the worst. Witness Trump's 'Sexy Snooker'.

Not having a go at you but that was little to do with the practice table, no amount of practice can make your game click in a big match like Higgins' did tonight, playing proper matches in the Championship League before this will have been a bigger factor.

Most of the Chinese players are perfect proof that all the hours in the world practicing can't give you a mentality like Higgins'.

I have zero respect for JH, we’ll just leave it at that.

I just can’t understand how a player of Ronnie’s class can play so many clumsy break off shots, happens almost every time he breaks, cost him at least one frame tonight, so vital in these short matches.

No offence to the snooker players left, but who would watch, Higgins, Bingham, Bintao and Gilbert, all good snooker players, but to slow and boring, there average shot time is around 30 seconds or more, that why snooker is a dead sport, just a pity Ronnie got beat tonight and Judd Trump and Jack Lisowski, were not able to take part.

Snooker isn't dead. Why do you think Ronnie has spent his career playing snooker instead of 9ball? Because he wouldn't be a millionaire playing 9ball. Snooker is there the money is at when it comes to billiards.

Incredible match. One player produced almost flawless snooker, while the other probably would have won the match had they been playing someone else.

Can't call a winner for this tournament. Would be happy to see any of the four semi-finalists triumph.

Ronnie will always be consistent whilst he doesn’t have the passion for it as he used to do. He doesn’t put the amount of practice in (he admits himself) which is needed to be number 1 as he has other things that interest him. It’s sad for the game or snooker and his fans because you know if he has the drive and desire to practice he would be easily number 1 and win most of the tournaments.

He said it in a robotic way that masked his true feelings. Ronnie's demeanour wasn't one of "I just played in a great match" it was of "I played poorly" which he didn't. His safety play was very good but he was worn down by Higgin's consistency. Everyone else recognised the quality of the game and then Ronnie's mood dampened that.
