Tui, the UK's largest tour operator, says 50% of bookings on their website are currently by over-50s.
Dow voters may deny but I see it daily on the frontline.
Medical fact akin to dementure.

And the lower age that are still going to Raves and Parties are supposed to be intelligent?. Oh sorry ZERO IQ I believe, well, at least that a start on the scale.
So the people who've been able to work from home or put their feet up on a defined-benefit pension, and stay home with no financial penalty, will now get to fly off round the world while the young (who've both been forced to go to work and then blamed for spreading the virus when they do) are told to stay indoors and eat cold baked beans as their income continues to collapse. Nice.
Not all of us! Please don't lump all older people into the same box. We voted remain. We've been self isolating since before the first lockdown, nearly a year now. We wouldn't dream of going on holiday in the current situation. We are both pushing 80.
I did not vote for Brexit, so please don't presume to speak for me. And yes, I'm an oldie.....but my 'go to' holiday choice is Ibiza (oldest swinger in town!). However, I won't be going there until I feel it's safe and responsible to do so.
A third of retired people voted Remain. 85% + of Conservative voters were pro brexit. Please direct your blame to the more appropriate group.
No we bloody well didn't - grow up.
Think this is quite sad of older generation = they should be cautious until everyone has been vaccinated - which in reality is late summer earliest. Caution, which is supposed to be word of older generation, appears not to be considered here and bit of slap in face for younger generation who have suffered terribly to protect them
Not true of all of us, never make the mistake of assuming a whole generation behaves and thinks the same way.
I can't think of words that would be acceptable on this post to describe your idiotic stance. 'This' generation gives loads to the younger generations.
Glad that the most selfish generation in history have something to look forward to at least. *rolls eyes*
Meanwhile, nothing but lockdown, isolation, financial and mental health problems for us younger generations.

I hear that Sheerings has just been relaunched. Their first offer is a five day tour of English crematoria.

Nobody should be surprised that greedy pensioners are jumping the queue because of their ‘vaccine advantage’. After all, hasn’t the past year been mostly all about them?

I think a lot of older people would have accepted harder restrictions on them to keep their children in work and grandchildren at school. The problem is that it wasn’t practical or the Government didn’t want to do it.
And this boys and girls is why we will be in lockdown for ever. The vaccine doesn’t make you safe and doesn’t keep the rest of us safe. It’s almost offensive that the ones we are locking down to protect are rushing off to be reckless.
Sadly, while you may have a point, the alternatives were clearly thought to be worse by the majority, a view I shared (and I didn't vote Tory).
The silver-tops that we're all putting our lives on hold to protect are all jetting off on holiday then. Weeks after lecturing us "young 'uns" about how reckless we all are.

Only if you accept unquestioningly this blatantly misleading article. Do you take everything at face value?
Well it will save paying pensions to them when they catch it and possibly die.

Ha, typical. Older generation surviving off the back of the young by enforcing lockdowns, get to the front of the queue for the vaccine and then immediately go on holiday.
While that is a gross distortion of the truth, if even one old person acts that way they are a disgrace. Removed

Young folk sacrificing their jobs, their futures, to save the sickly old folks from Corona. Then the old folks off on holiday. Priorities eh?

Over simplifying things a little aren't you ??
I call bullshit on this article and the travel industry data. I don't think its true, just an attempt to boost sales figures and create confidence which simply isn't there

You could be right. The BBC love stirring. Pictures of empty supermarket shelves etc.
It beggars belief...is the silver £ generation simply stupid, ill-informed or uneducated or just selfish? The vacine may protect them but they can still carry the virus, spreading it to others. The same generation who moans and groans about having to pay for social care costs, TV licence and inheritance tax and have hd triple lock protection for far too long....I'm 68 years old ...shameful

The over 50s off to spend their ill gotten as soon as they get the chance, having moaned at anyone else who travelled whilst they themselves were at risk! Those triple locked pensions have been burning a hole
What else would we expect from Britain's Most Selfish Generation Ever!

Over 50s getting triple-locked pensions?
Clearly I didn't get the memo, as I've been resigned to the fact that the pension age was late 60-something (and probably higher still with every passing year).

Sickening. All the Boomers the young have had to put their lives on hold for by staying in, and see massive national debts built up that will have to be paid for through their taxes, now get to watch the oldies go back to their holidays. Disgraceful. Why don't you give the jabs to younger cohorts who need to go out to work and care / hospital staff? Retired Boomers can continue to self-isolate.
Retarded behaviour. Removed
