Will you please stop trying to fuel a 'panic buying takes hold" story. This is totally irresponsible and fake news of the worst kind. It is not worthy of a so called responsible news organisation. Have been to a large Tescos today. Very quiet, shelves all fully stocked, everyone masked and respecting distancing. Please desist.
Odd that everyone can see the attempt to induce panic over food, yet because the mortality and infection figures aren't so easily seen they succeed in producing a panic over a virus no worse that flu in terms of overall mortality, and much less lethal than flu to anyone healthy and those under 45. Spreads slightly faster than flu though doesn't it? Unless you're an epidemiologist who seems to know it all why spread fake news? Keep doing your research on YouTube and Facebook lol

Utter, dangerous nonsense.
Average yearly flu deaths are around 17,000 & we're already at nearly FIVE TIMES that number for Covid in less than ten months, with far worse to come.
Presumably you don't care if tens of thousands of people are having their lives cut short.

When will people like you who keep spouting this nonsense concede that the annual flu mortality is at a relatively low level because so many vulnerable people are vaccinated against flu each year.

Why keep peddling this stuff in the face of valid evidence? e.g;

https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lanres/article/PIIS2213-2600(20)30527-0/fulltext

(read all of it and learn something about how to use data)

As well as having far higher overall mortality than seasonal flu it also, as no doubt you know perfectly well , has many other serious side effects some of which are likely permanent.

"In-hospital mortality was higher in patients with COVID-19 than in patients with influenza (15 104 [16·9%] of 89 530 vs 2640 [5·8%] of 45 819), with a relative risk of death of 2·9 (95% CI 2·8–3·0) and an age-standardised mortality ratio of 2·82."

Driving a car is also a risk to everyone of all ages. Yet we let folk just drive around whenever they want. Shocking.

Thank you oh arbiter of truth! Your judgement is gratefully recieved.
More sensational garbage headlines from the BBC. They travelled the length and breadth of the country just to find the only supermarket in the UK with an empty row of shelves. Probably in the Shetlands. Exactly the same way they found two small EU companies out of 10s of thousands that aren't going to supply the UK market anymore because of increased red tape. Panic stoking morons the lot of them Removed
