Ref was quick to dish out the most bizarre red on the weekend after Longstaffs theatrics. Refs on board with Bruce (ex Man U don't forget), should have booked Longstaff for that dive and screaming like a little girl. What a wimp club lead by a wimp manager.

In Bruce we trust... he'll come good if given time and some cash to sign a couple of players in Jan transfer window. Look at Ole being given time at Man U, now he's got them to top of the PL. Give Steve Bruce the same respect and opportunity to turn it around

Why is loyalty such a dirty word? It’s thanks to some “fans” that Newcastle is a poisoned chalice for managers. Remember Chris Hughton? He brought us back from the Championship then lost his job. I was ashamed to be a fan then. Bruce couldn’t even name a full bench of subs for the Arsenal game, such is the crisis at the club. It’s shallow to point the finger at others - brexiters spring to mind

As a supporter, i find myself increasingly critical of the players, manager and owner. They have to be the most frustrating team in the PL to follow. My dad gave me many things but his love of newcastle is not something i'm enjoying as much as he did.

Tried to be on Bruce's side but can't hide the contempt for the team selection and the way he set up as if we were playing Man City away. We were always going to be against the odds for a result when a Madley is in charge, highlighted by the goal Wilson had disallowed for breathing in the Sheff United half and the fact he was nearly laughing out loud as he pulled out the red.

Hope someone can explain what is the point of Steve Bruce at Newcastle. Goes to the leagues worst team and sets out to defend. Incapable of putting a team out to win a game or even wanting too. You cannot draw your way up the table. That's if you can get a draw. Same last week against Brentford. Clueless.

I don't know about Newcastle's form, but Brentford are a decent team. If they hadn't bottled it in the final last summer they'd have been in the prem with Watkins and Benrama - lost both of them and still competitive. I'm not a Brentford fan but I have a lot of respect for their form. Championship teams are rarely fodder these days, esp those at the top. If teams don't take them seriously...boom.

SB is far too negative - why don’t they turn up, get on the front foot against a side with 3 points & lacking in confidence. A win was there for the taking, but no, one up front, no attacking ambition yet again. Creative players left on the bench, they deserve to be in the relegation shake up. In a couple of weeks, that’s where they’ll be. Feel sorry for Wilson playing up front in this side.

Feel sorry for NUFC fans. Great club and a fantastic following.

The problem is that as with all bar 3 or 4 clubs, the time and investment required is beyond the patience of most supporters. The money needed to even dent the top 6 is obscene.

Top managers only go where the cash is - top players follow the best managers.

A depressing catch 22.

It was a very poor challenge on Schär by Sharp. Newcastle United played with the handbrake on but should still be saved by the ineptitude of at least three below them. Easy for me to say, as a neutral.
