Why are civil servants still on full pay if furloughed? Should it not be 80% like the private sector. Are we not in this together? This cost saving would re channel funds elsewhere.
Perhaps they are working from home full-time

Sorry to hear that. Yes my wife and I have been hit by the schools closing as well. We have a 5 and 2 year old. Our youngest goes to nursery 2 days a week (down from 4 due to costs and lack of income from me) My wife's income was a godsend last year and kept us going. But one of us will have to be home now, meaning less cash sadly whichever way we try and reorganise.. i'm missing a days pay today.
Sorry to hear this Lupinflo, life's a btch isn't it , and if you cannot afford kids maybe you shouldn't have had any . Removed

Looks to me like Lupinflo & wife are fully-paid up members of society contributing through taxation and being good citizens, who are falling on hard times thanks to Covid. Whilst sensible people plan for a rainy day, No-one could have planned for this rainy year.

You really are ignorant and uninformed. Your pea-sized brain clearly didn't take into account that Doug must have had kids BEFORE lockdown when we wasn't experiencing financial difficulties.

By your reasoning, everyone who's suffered during this hell shouldn't have had kids. Should they have predicted this? Did you? M0r0n.

If private businesses are going to suffer due to this latest lockdown it's only right that teachers do too. They should be forced to hand over their passports so they can't go swanning off abroad at half-term after constantly whining and getting their way about it being too unsafe to open schools Removed

I think you will find it was the Unions peddling the stance that it was too unsafe to open schools, not teachers, all of which have worked constantly since the first lockdown and wanted schools to remain open. Seems you are simply bitter, bad experience in school? Didn't do as well as you should have or couldn't be bothered to work and no looking to blame the system.
