Brexit: 'Strong possibility' of no trade deal with EU - PM
11/12/2020 | news | politics | 11,024
Boris Johnson says negotiations with the EU will continue, but are "not yet there at all".
Bojo - you promised a fantastic deal.

You are a shameless liar who is indifferent to the damage you are inflicting on ordinary people.

Resign.

No deal is a fantastic deal.

Great news :)
That's a bit of a silly comment given the general election campaign to "get Brexit done". Maybe you rushed that comment out a bit too quickly. Don't forget quality over upvotes wins the day.

Toyota this week announced a no deal would be a nail in the coffin for their 3000 UK workforce. This isn’t pre brexit rhetoric - it’s simply post brexit fact. I really feel for these skilled jobs. Incidentally - Both constituencies where they’re based voted to leave. Many more to follow....

If we got a trade deal with the EU, and then broke some of its terms, what would the EU do to us?

The answer is: instruct its members to raise tariffs on us.

If we don't get a deal, what would the WTO do if we broke some of its rules?

The answer is: instruct its members to raise tariffs on us.

Yet the Tories paint the EU as trying to subjugate us, whereas the WTO allows complete sovereignty.

COVID has killed millions worldwide and a No deal Brexit is simply result of not accepting terms which would have negated the reasons for leaving EU in the beginning. They aren't our friends. They have quite deliberately scuppered any chance of reaching a deal. It's obvious that the French have been instrumental in preventing a deal on fishing. Bizarrely, their fishermen will now suffer even more because they will have no access to our waters. To access the single market there are rules imposed by the EU. These rules have been in place since the inception of the EU. We cant expect access without following the rules thats it in nutshell. Brexit was sold to the masses on the basis that we were such an important player that the EU would bend the rules for the UK. WRONG!! The single market is more important than any one sovereign state!!!!!

You don't get it. The EU have sets of standards that all must follow. Fair enough, but they don't impose rules on things like state aid on any other countries, so why on the UK? OK so we are near, so is Russia and Turkey but they don't try to force them to comply.
They're not protecting the single market they are protecting the existence of the EU

It astounds me that so many Brits have so little confidence in our country, our skills, our abilities and our strengths. We do not have to cling to the EU coat tails to thrive. Have confidence, we can do it without a deal. Brexit is for generations and not just for this year or next. The long term prospects are excellent.

With many of this bunches comments on this article all I can say is there are many who have no back bone or even the support for what was a democratic decision by the UK populace back in 2016. No deal is far from a catastrophe unless we make it one. However if this is the throw in the towel attitude of the Uk's population all I can say is "god help the UK". Remoaners are out in force disgraceful.

So because Brexit has failed, you don't want to hear any "I told you so" comment? Tough. Suck it up. You voted for this failure.

I voted for Brexit and now I feel I was lied to. I hope deal, no deal the future is better, or I will lose trust to this government.

Did you vote Leave?
No? So what are you moaning about?
I voted Leave and I don't care what the politicians promised. Neither does any other Leave voter, because none of us are wet behind the ears millennials that believe anything politicians say.
PS. Santa isn't real either!

No quitter can see dishonesty stinks, can they ?

Whit trash matters bertie ;)
