I wonder how French fishermen will react to having no right to fish in UK waters. Do folk remember how French farmers protested re UK lamb imports 30 years ago? They blockaded the roads, attacked lorry drivers, threw live sheep at barriers, burned sheep alive and slit the throats of others. This sort of militancy is very much in the French tradition so the Royal Navy will need to be ready.

The EU has put in contingency plans for their own benefit, not to protect the UK population. Unfortunately, we will go along with them as it helps us too. Note, that they are expecting fishing rights to remain for 12 months whereas other plans are for six months! Self interest only. If we finish with a ‘no deal’ it will be tough at first. I think everyone needs to accept that.????

What Cameron and May didn’t appreciate was how politically naive and racist the U.K. was. The behaviour of the EU reminds me a bit of the KGB in the 70s. and 80s 'You can join but you can never leave' IF you read the EUs accompanying document on their 'request for fish' for the next year, it states they are having to ask due to potential devastation of fishing communities in the EU if they dont. Much as I'm reluctant to bring past European events back into this, sometimes it helps to make a point for the hard of understanding. A lot of decent people were misled by a small group of zealots with a mad agenda back in the 1930s and it took a lot of pain before they realised their mistake.

Let's hope there's no bloodshed this time but there will be a LOT of pain and a lengthy rebuilding.

I’m really proud of Boris, a true leader who doesn’t back down in these trade talks. These talks must fail if the negotiations are unreasonable, it sounds like the EU are not being realistic, especially seeing that we are now a sovereign nation.

EU 27 are bullying due to their size. UK cannot be subjugated as non-member state being forced to follow rules over which it has no say. Predictable that career politicians would bluff until the last minute hoping the other side would cave in. Only solution is to stand firm, not get bullied, keep our sovereignty and deal with the consequences. Do you think the EU want no deal? Sucks for them too.

1) Job creation - 1000s of jobs on the Irish border.
With a free kevlar vest and rapid staff turnover.
2) Cheap bass and chips.
3) Welcoming cheap labour from the Commonwealth.
India, Bangladesh, Barbados, Cameroon etc
4) Resurgence of the traditional British cars like the Maestro, Allegro, Metro

In Britain we eat tripe.

Force-fed by the Tories and their trashy tabloid chums.

In that case, you could expect to see 'maximum go slow' at French ports, and the French navy 'too busy preventing escalating situations at sea' to stop illegal migrants crossing the Channel.
A reasonable deal is the best way forwards, and that's where we'll end up, surely!

We’ve been the whipping boys of the EU for far too long, with yet more unpalatable rules & regulations being thrust at us & now we’ve left the EU we no longer have to accept the anti British stance of France and Germany who have for all too long been promoting their own agendas. Still they’re trying to beat us with an iron bar rather than respecting the will of the people and our sovereignty!,

When the 2016 report called "Regional assessment of the impact of Brexit" was hidden, then lost, then classified by the English parliament of Westminster you were well warned England that this was a choice between Brexit or the Union. That report proved the devastating damage Brexit will do to Scotland making it the worst off.

Scotland can not afford Brexit so we will now Jog on. C'est La Vie.

Still unable to provide any tangible benefits of BrExit and only able to cast insults? There was nothing honest about the BrExit vote; but keep holding onto your beliefs because it is likely that is all you will have in 6 months time. Welcome to Reality.

The EU are so deluded it's untrue.

Can they really believe that if they deliberately crash the trade talks because we won't agree to let them dictate our laws that we will then agree to an emergency deal that gives them the right to continue fishing in UK waters?

They are completely off their heads. Until they face the reality that the UK has left there can never be a deal.
