If you think this island can feed itself, you need a serious lesson in international trade and economics. Britain IMPORTS 48% of the food consumed here as there are many things that cannot be grown at home. Then there's the factor of the ever-increasing number of people now reliant on food banks (something that was already happening before COVID-19 hit).

Under great pressure and given a great deal of time, we COULD feed ourselves a very restricted diet, perhaps. But, starting on Jan 1st and advertising it as one of he benefits of Brexit - are we going to have UK grown oranges, olives and wine? Even apples and pears? Deal or no deal doesn't matter as the country will adapt and the covid economic crisis will force it to adapt. If it doesn't adapt people will leave for other countries which are doing better and the country will settle back to a lower pop level and lower level of economic activity. So Brexit and our freedom is good and we can be a beacon of hope for the vassal states of the Franco_German EU.
