EU sources say the two sides are nearing an agreement on access to UK waters by EU fishing fleets.

I do not always agree with Farage, but his language is moderate compared with some of the anti-Brexit comments on this website. it is the frustrated Remainers and the hard left who spew bile.
Stick to our guns, says something when EU want access to our waters for 10 years. Are we the only ones who play by the rules after the corrupt VW Mercedes emissions fiasco.....all they get is a slap on the wrist. Removed

Totally agree. The EU has brow beaten this country for far to long. The only way we could get into their club was by giving them the rights to fish our waters, whilst fishing communities in the UK have died away.

How negotiating usually works:

• State initial positions
• Both sides compromise
• Settlement

How Johnson thinks negotiating works:

• Promise a great deal
• Appeal to jingoists at home
• Ludicrous lying
• Demonstrate bad faith by reneging on past deals
• Spin it as other side's fault
• More lying
• Threaten to renege on more things
• Again pander to jingoists
• Walk away
• Come back
• Walk away

The demographics of those who voted in the 2016 referendum are suggestive of the fact that those who voted Remain would already be in the majority - although I agree that it might take some time of suffering the inevitable omnishambles of Brexit for some of the leftover Leave voters to admit that it maybe wasn't such a good idea.

Why do we need to have an HYS on this every day. All we get is the same groups of people spewing hate to anyone that did not vote the same way as them. BBC do you really need to continually create division
Quite right Ian.

You’ll not see any HYS on Millwall FC fans booing the players taking the knee for BLM or a HYS on Muslim men grooming children for multiple sex attacks.

Now that would be really divisive but you’ll never see it as it’s not on the BBC’s agenda.

They’d rather promote LBGT and BLM stories without any HYS attached to them.

No yours.
The thing the gammons don’t get is that the Eu aren’t interested in brexit or deals (check any of their newspapers). It will have no effect their side. The chaos is this side with half built car parks, no custom system, another it system going to a Tory wag and ports at the point of collapse our side.

There will be a deal and it will be worse than full membership

The term "gammon" is racist. I've reported this comment
Once again my comment has been removed calling out the social ethics of brexit voters. Lets try again with different wording.
Brexit was a racist vote. It wasn't about economics it was about immigration because fake news got to the masses and the Labour Party became so out of touch with traditional working class voters.

It was not a racist vote in any way or form. 47million had a chance to vote yet 39 million chose not to. I suggest you cannot accept this vote because like many others it did not go your way. As for your point on the Labour Party it as for many years stop being a working class party.

Yes you surely know better than the working class. The only way they could possibly disagree is if they are racist and mislead.

Please explain why immigration is a racist issue when the UK's immigration proposals put, say French and Indians on an equal footing. The EU's 'free movement' is racist discrimination against those Indians.

My local newsagent is a 1st generation Indian immigrant. He voted to leave in 2016 as he said there’s too many people in this country as it is. He seemed genuine.

Is that racist? I don’t think it can be as he doesn’t mention race.

The “sticking points” have been there from the beginning. The EU haven’t changes, nor do they need to.
It’s the UK that wants something for nothing.
They created the problem, they have to solve it. The EU could walk away, and it won’t affect them in the slightest as they would carry on.
The UK would start looking for friends who probably would be few and far between if any at all.
What a mess.

Why is the BBC promoting BLM in the Vicar of Dibley Christmas Special?

It's an overtly political message and contravenes the BBC's impartiality rules.

My advice to anyone visiting this page is to go somewhere else. It is full of bile from both remain types who want to say “we told you so” for the mess the country is in and brexit types who are desperate to find someone, anyone, to blame, ideally Johnny Foreigner, for the mess the country is in.

We need an anti-bile vaccine ASAP but I fear too many are past saving.

HYS is a perfect example what type of comments you get when allowing anonymous posts by opposing factions. What we need is to realise what ever childish insults and name calling you use on here its not going to make one iota of difference and only goes to show the lack of intelligence of the poster and I mean both Brexiters and Remainers.

I wonder if any of the ex remainers can explain what they have achieved since June 16, other than winning 2 obscure votes in Parliament 3 yrs ago & of course their deluded attempt to topple democracy in our great nation.
They lost the referendum, the Conservatives won the last GE on a ticket to get Brexit done, in fact the ex remainers have lost all the way through. Time for the to quiet down!!

Can't judge Bunter on the vaccine as he had nothing to do with it.
A victory lap for that would be completely despicable, but not unexpected.
He will, however, be judged on which ever inept crony he puts in charge of delivering the vaccine to the populous.
I think history will not be kind to the buffoon.

If the French veto the deal over fishing access they'll have no right of access at all - I suppose they know that. And if they retaliate by not buying our fish, where will they get fish from? I hope the UK negotiators remember that Britons don't take kindly to being pushed around by foreigners, least of all the French. EU doesn't want to interfere. UK is asking for access to SM. EU has an obligation to ensure SM is not destablised with anti-competitive behaviour. Therefore, they are NOT asking UK to follow all EU rules slavishly (the Brexiteer lie) but ARE asking for a robust dispute resolution process with teeth, were UK to choose to diverge to such an extent that SM is destabilised. Perfectly reasonable.
