England beat France in dramatic final
06/12/2020 | sport | rugbyunion | 2,215
Owen Farrell finally finds his kicking boots to land a sudden-death penalty to subdue a stand-in France and win the Autumn Nations Cup at Twickenham.
I sense a terrible disturbance in the force. It’s as if 5 million bleating Welsh trolls have just been silenced......Love it. Absolutely love it. Well done France! A resurgent French side to battle it out with us, Ireland and Scotland is just what the 6N needs. Removed

Classy comment.
Clearly from a country that’s never won a WC and thinks the 6N is important.
Newsflash:
NZ, Australia(often), SA and England are the teams to beat.
Finishing 4th, 5th or 6th in this autumn comp is an indication of ineptness.

Just a thought a thought.

Wouldn't it have been wonderful for Rugby had England gone for the corner instead of the kick for goal.
It would have shown respect for the opposition and for followers of the sport not just at the stadium for for all those following on TV.

Eng may have won the game & competition but France will win the plaudits and the hearts of any fair supporter.

France the team to beat in 6N

England have a few questions still to answer , are a few steps ahead of the rest but need to kick on.

From an eng fan , congratulations to France , French rugby looks in a good place

So the autumn nations cup confirms the northern hemisphere IRB standings:

1st England ??
2nd France ??
3rd Ireland ??
4th Scotland??
5th WALES! ??
6th Italy ??
7th Georgia ??
And the best thing is all the trolls are on here posting like crazy so they'll see the ranking.

Some great French youth on show very similar to the England team 4/5 years ago that are now the Northern Hemispheres team to beat.

Other nations in the NH would do well to blood youth and not cling on to old glory boys. France and England cut ties with dinosaurs years ago and are reaping the benefit and are the only sides capable of competing with SH sides.

Don't get the comments that France deserved to win. They gave a very good account of themselves and probably played as well as first string team would have done. Ultimately they did not have the firepower to resist and England pulled it out of the fire. Had England played the first choice team I still think they would have won and there would have been no comments saying France should have won.

I must say...terrible negativity towards Farrell and England. Farrell actually showed immense courage nailing some of those difficult kicks, and England have won a second tournament this year. nobody really criticised Wales when they won so many games with Warren ball. How many northern hemisphere sides have beaten Australia NZ and South Africa in the last two years? Winning ugly counts!
There wasn't a single difficult kick there, he even abrogated responsibility to Ford for the last line kick, the useless Northern Monkey. Removed

England, first golden penalty winners !!
Outplayed by a second streak of France for at least 70 mns. With Dupont and the others, England would have suffered their 2nd defeat by the same nation again, I am convinced of it. In 2021, France will remain, as for the last decades, the most feared European opponents of the All Blacks. Nothing will ever change that. Not even Joubert, nor an earthquake.
Aha aha O you’re being serious....forgot you’re French don’t forget we have seen what you lot are made of in the Second World War, tell me how long did it take for the Nazis to overrun your country....idiot Removed

We didn’t deserve to win, we knocked on at the end and got a few other decisions. Another terrible performance, no plan B and we’d have bottled another final if not for our good fortune. Behind on the scoreboard and celebrating the opposition knocking like we’d scored a try. the ref had to tell us to stop screaming at him, where has this come from??
Sadly this is all true, a very poor image indeed. There needs to be a massive clear out and a new set of values established. I think it all stems from Saracens’ belief that winning is paramount regardless of method. Removed

Would you care to elucidate on this please? It would seem that your view is winning the 6N and the Autumn Nations Cup rather than losing in them like we did in the RWC final, is over ridden by the need to "entertain" (even if losing).
Or is your view just because England won?
