With the likes of Nikita Mazepin, Lance Stroll and now Mick Schumacher there seems more opportunities in F1 for those with money and celebrity rather than raw talent.

Good luck to them, but it is a shame there isn't more scope for future kids from Stevenage to get to the pinnacle of the sport.
Do me a favour
Hamilton's dad is an accountant and his mum was an oil executive

LH is hardly from the Ghetto
Jenson would be a more realistic example

His mum was an oil executive! how rich is that family then.......and with his dad being an accountant just think of the opportunities to be creative with your tax.

Tax never is a level playing field though

Mansell would be a far more realistic example...worked in a lucas factory and had to re-mortgage his home for the Unipart drive. That's just one example

The new breed of F1 drivers are spoilt brats. Makes the sport a bit of a turn off.

The “accountant” and “oil executive” is a lie.
Lewis did start out in a rough estate (sorry Peartree residents) but the family did work their way up through a number of progressively nicer homes, though graft. Ended up in leafy millionaires area, Tewin Wood before Lewis got an F1 drive.

Well said Richie. Some most welcome and much needed balance and a truer perspective right there.

Unbelievable bias and nonsense from comments here as usual. Russell will show how easy Lulu Shamilton has had it since 2017, and hopefully Mick will prove the haters wrong next season and earn a drive with a bigger team. He is where he has got to on talent alone and wouldn't be top of F2 with such a talented crop of youngsters an amount that's been unseen for many years if he wasn't good.

Best of luck to Mick Schumacher - will be a fair bit of pressure on him I suspect, but i'm sure Michael is just proud that his son has made it to F1, very much on merit, in the first place.

Speaking of pressure, will be fun to see what Bottas can do this weekend - he's been an absolute shambles in the fastest F1 car in history; if Russell beats him (and I think he will), his reputation is toast.
Sadly, Michael won't even know he has kids never mind be proud. Removed

Let's hope he is more Nico Rosberg than Bruno Senna
What, you mean a cheating coward who ran away from the sport because he knew he could not rely on his cheating and Lewis' car failures to retain a title he did not deserve to win? Removed

Finally a reason to start watching it again.
Can't wait
I wish Mick Schumacher the best luck in the world and just hope and pray his father can comprehend his achievements.

(I stopped watching F1 as in the UK the programs became less about F1 and more of the LH show
And to mention the potential of a knighthood for LH - I would say, hold it until he decides to pay taxes in the UK! )
So, what you're saying is the politicians etc who have whole heartedly decided to award Lewis Hamilton a Knighthood, they don't know how to do their jobs...??? You low life good for nothing. Removed

wide of the mark to say the least!
I'm saying LHs bringing BLM into F1 politicises sport, which IMO is not on. We get enough politics without it being bought into sport, whether you agree with BLM or not.
Will he try to kill other drivers like his father? Removed

@528 Baggy

You call me a troll when you post over 60 comments on single F1 forum. I have a different view to you about Michael Schumacher. My view is positive and respectful for what a great champion he was and that his son is now following in his footsteps. Your view is derogatory as in your last post. You like Hamilton and I don't. A good driver BUT I don't like what he stands for in any way.
Since when has the number of posts on a single F1 Forum got anything to do with whether that is 'trolling' or not?

Answer: It hasn't got anything to do with it.

Your views on Hamilton are constantly derogatory (and possibly racist). I have acknowledged the worth of both drivers, but also the obvious flaws history can validate.

You are still a troll, and still not a very good one.

Since the Moderators seem incapable of differentiating between trolling and legitimate responses to them, i'll modify my post.

It isn't difficult to see who is trolling here. Your views on Hamilton are constantly derogatory (and possibly racist). I have acknowledged the worth of both drivers, but also the obvious flaws history can validate.
