Pretty ruthless from Trump. And the bottom half of the draw has opened up a bit after Murphy and O'Sullivan were eliminated. Looking ominous for the rest?

Please ... anyone but Selby. Even the nose picker is more enjoyable to watch. I was tortured in my younger days by Ebdon. No need to now inflict Selby on me.

At least we don't have to see him waving to his maw after every shot.

It's interesting how some of the players do much better without an audience while others - O'Sullivan, I would say - need the fans before they can produce their best.
A bit like live theatre vs film studios I suppose.

O'Sullivan said that no crowd was the reason he won the world championship. He hates all the attention and circus that goes with the media and the public prior to the snooker being played at big events.

Trump's going to dominate snooker for the foreseeable future. His progress from flash but inconsistent prodigy to all-round expert has been amazing.

You have to admire the way Judd has really focussed and now is a winning machine. He deserves to be world no 1. In saying that he will, I believe, be judged on how many triple crown events he wins. I do like Trump's attitude. He's gone from playboy shot maker to an all round great player. In 20 years time I wonder how many titles he'll have amassed. Reardon in the 70's, Davis in the 80's Hendry in the 90's, then O'Sullivan. Now it's the Trump era. I also love his politeness, the fact he has great respect for his fellow players. An all round good guy.
