A fall of -30% over 12 days might not appear dramatic to some, but it has to be compared with the rise of +100% every 9 days before lockdown. That is a massive result.

The headline focusing on just the 30% part of this is not doing justice to the achievement.
Shocking piece of propaganda, delivered without caviats into your home by the Unholy Trinity of HMG, The BBC and Neil Fergusons Imperial College.

I hate to inform you but people saying they know the truth whilst also having no access to any data and no relevant qualification or experience are not spouting the truth. They are spouting dangerous conspiracies that have in the US at least resulted in people ignoring the advice of expert medical professionals that has led to them catching Covid and sadly passing away

Hmm - I just checked out the website and did some reading about its provenance and the provenance of some of the contributors. It's a less balanced commentary than the BBC & MSM sources - not really fair to tarnish one as propaganda without acknowledging the other as similar.
Perhaps its the natural propensity that we all have to follow sources that reinforce rather than challenge our own views.

Why? They are asking perfectly valid questions. The problem with this whole fiasco is that Whitty, Vallance and SAGE are treated as being completely infallible. There are plenty of eminent experts at universities in the UK who have rightly questioned some of the evidence and the hysteria it has engendered.

It doesn't seem to bear any significance on the tier system though. For example, I don't understand why Rotherham is tier 3 when its infection rate is significantly lower than tier 2 places such as Luton and Epping Forest. No clarity has been provided so it's difficult to swallow.

Frankly I don't care about cases. Don't care about covid come to that. It is a fear epidemic based on nonsense. There is a virus, it does cause a very few sick and old people to die sadly. But once you're that old something is going to get you. We are ruining our children's futures, and the lives of many over an Influenza level threat. Utter madness and a disgrace.

To the contrary, evidence has always been that masks help protect others by reducing droplet spread. Some evidence now that it also helps protect the user. The original advice was because there weren’t enough masks for front line workers so the gov didn’t want everyone else competing for them so incorrect advice given. So not all spin.
This is wrong . If you look at the packet it will tell you it does not protect against a virus. The virus is too small to be contained unless you have a very fine filter in it. There is evidence that wearing a mask for more than two hours can cause brain damage due to oxygen deprivation. But you won't see that on the BBC! Removed

This is not about social control, it is about ensuring that we all behave responsibly, with consideration for others and do all within our power to ensure that the virus does not spread. Tiering and lockdown is the inevitable and unfortunate consequence of many people not following sensible voluntary restraint.

But by ignoring SAGE advice for 3 weeks & refusing to lock down we had a repeat of the March fiasco. PCR testing, is the basis for the entire house of cards of Covid restrictions that are wreaking havoc worldwide. From testing comes case numbers. From case numbers come the ‘R number,’ the rate at which a carrier infects others. From the ‘dreaded’ R number comes the lockdowns and the restrictions
An alternative perspective.
